Naga really shot town in the foot with his "I'm a cop and tevish is town."

I was super suspicious of tevish post revival. I was almost convinced he was scum. And to answer freddeh's question I was giving him enough rope to hang himself with. Watching without pressuring after he reacted cool and calm to my initial accusations.

But then Naga comes in with a cop result on tevish and... I threw all that right on point theory out the window.

Then I got super sick and couldn't focus.

and if the results themselves are what cost town the game then i think its PK who shot town in the foot rather than naga

Anyway, I have about a dozen mafia games saved on my laptop that I designed and never ran. If everyone is looking for another game to start up right away and nobody else is itching to run... I could.

Idk how you ever call that a legit cop result though is my point. I remember when I was still alive and saw that and was like 'eh, lets see where it goes but seems like a troll role to me'.

But sickness happens so fair enough hope you're feeling better man!

The issue was that the Miller have the expected cop result. If Rag had shown as anything other than "scum" we would not have taken the role seriously. So I really think that was the most bastard aspect of the whole game. If the role doesn't show alignments for anyone else, it shouldn't for the Miller either.

We hashed this conversation out in the discord a variety of times. One important note though, Rag, as PK mentioned, never mentioned how her role would intentionally make her appear as bad as possible in all results (or something to that effect). What can be worse than turning up as scum; which, after all, is the entire point of a Miller.

The worst part was that I considered the possiblity that the ability wasn't alignment indicative but I wanted to save bringing it up for the final day because I thought there was a decent chance Naga was scum because they targeted rag (which was a move that didn't make sense as scum) and me trying to reintroduce Tevish lowered the chance of him getting nk'd as scum and would have increased the chance of me getting lynched yesterday, which would have been bad. Not questioning it was my best chance of getting Naga to get lynched yesterday.

I didn't expect to get lynched without any discussion.

I had honestly assumed as much of rag's role, tbh.

I mean, Miller so eh.

One of the talking points in the discord, concerning that, was how a scum result coming up on a Miller (which makes the person come up as mafia usually if I'm not mistaken) vs the results we saw on "town" (exclude meta-ing Tevish's alignment) pushed the idea of "scum" results on mafia vs nonsense results on town. Seemed like an easy enough assumption to make given what happened.

Being more detailed like Fred, or at least having someone like Fred to push the point of it being a troll, may have pushed town in the right direction.

The intended implication was that literal taste was scummy.

A cop result is mafia, not scum.

It was a literal taste and scum is a taste not a role.
