I am trying to establish some ground rules, here. I need to know where EVERYONE stands because everyone needs to be on board for this to work. Especially if I'm going to be forthcoming with additional information as Tevish suggests. Now, humour me. Assume, for the purpose of this question, that I am telling the truth and that there isn't any bastardry about my role (remember, Jay has said that there would be no LIES in our role PMs). Given those assumptions, HYPOTHETICALLY speaking, if I have a better way to find and eliminate scum than Lynches, a way that is quantifiable and provable, exclusively benefits Town, and will cost the Town nothing but time, can you give me one good reason why that plan shouldn't be attempted?

Because you are begging the question. In the actual, technical, logical fallacy definition of the term. You require us to assume that following with your role is superior to lynching, and then ask if we would rather indulge the benefit of your role than lynch. The natural conclusion is already part of your premise, so the question itself is flawed.

I'm asking you to take what I have suggested, add to it the information you have that I don't, and come to some kind of conclusion as to whether or not you have a better suggestion. And anyway, regardless of how you feel about whether or not my question is flawed, you have no good reason not to answer my question, unless you are a threat to the town and you fear my role and my plan.

In what way is it better? If you don't tell me your plan how will I come to the same conclusion as you?

I need to have everyone's cooperation, or at least the entire Town's cooperation, before I can safely tell you that.

I don't see how I'm wrong since your ability not only takes time to complete, but potentially causes town to lose if you're lying about your alignment. But I should just take you at your word, yes? Or should I not take you at your word since you could be lying to me?

@Silly, because I'm not interested in giving the scum team anymore information about what I can do unless the other four members of the Town are willing to help me use it to its maximum potential.

@KoD, if I'm lying about my alignment, then you'll know since I've claimed my ability will be provable. And you'll have caught scum, and since as mafia I'd have no allies, then my gambit won't even be useful in drawing attention away from them. If I'm lying, this gambit of mine will cost me the game.

If you're lying about your alignment, and your ability does something amazing for "town", then town will likely lose.

The choice is obv. Do my own thing instead of blindly trusting you.

I'm not asking for "blind trust." I'm asking for cooperation in exchange for proof of what I am saying and a quantifiable boon for the Town.

This is a team based game, KoD, pitting an uninformed majority team against an informed minority team (or in this case, a pair of solos). The only way you get anything done is with a tiny bit of trust. A healthy dose of paranoia, sure, but also trust. Mounting a lynch wagon against someone? You need the trust of the people you aren't trying to lynch to support you. But not the infamous King of Duminaria. No. He doesn't trust anyone. He "does his own thing." Just what is your own thing, exactly? Killing Town players in their sleep? Cuz that sounds like a pretty obvious "I'm not trusting anyone, I'm going to do my own thing," kind of thing to do.

Fortunately, I don't need to convince you. I just need the support of the Town, of which you are clearly not a member.

Throwing "it's a team game" at me doesn't validate your position. Fact of the matter is you are asking me to trust in what you say even though you could be lying about your alignment. What if your ability auto wins the game for the mafia/self?

Let's not mix up the facts here. I asked you to answer a hypothetical question, promising to be more forthcoming with information after everyone had done so. You refused, on the basis that you couldn't trust my attempt to work with you and you're afraid my hypothetical question would lose you the game. That is the fact of the matter. You're afraid answering a question will lose you the game.

Besides, I can lie about my alignment, it's true, but my NLP is pretty specific about preventing me from lying regarding other things, like abilities; a NLP I haven't broken since I created it nearly eight years ago.

And I have no such ability to cause an "auto-win" or "auto-loss" of the game for any team, Town, Mafia, or otherwise.

You're the one trying to convince me to work with you, not the other way around. That being said, hypothetical question and "I will prove myself in a few days" are not convincing.
