His claim made him likely to be town as far as I was concerned.
Maybe you're getting hung up on the idea that just because I was constructing a three person team that that is what led to, in your eyes, me establishing CL as being "third likely" to be town. Really, as far as all the claims went, we had you and Arrgh more or less confirming each other which doesn't do much for me. Then Arrgh is talking about information that can't be confirmed. Finally CL claims to be a sleeper, but hasn't sent any messages. CL's claim came off as trying to fit in without having to verify himself.
Comparatively, CL came off as more likely, to me, to be town!maf due to the claim whereas you and Arrgh are a matter of connection through claimed messages. If the message mechanic is spread out over a variety of roles (some maf, some town, some with other abilities, others only having that ability), then I could just as easily be wrong about you two (though, again, with Arrgh claiming more unverifiable stuff, I'd think not).
In any event, CL was the one I made a deal to hit, and he certainly seemed likely to be town. Whether that likelihood is more or less compared to you and Arrgh is another matter entirely (one that I feel is probably closer to CL than to you and Arrgh, but it isn't something that can concretely be put down into numbers).
As a side note: You're using the whole "you could have ended the game by shooting" as a reason to condemn my action. I'm sure, as I said, that had I not shot you'd be using that fact (the fact that I didn't shoot CL like I claimed I would -- just as with Amber) against me right now.
I feel like it was pretty clear that yesterday you felt me and arrrgh were effectively solved as town and spent your efforts trying to find who the third person might be.
I wouldn't condemn a vig for not shooting when missing would mean the game would end.
