I'd say JaC's role was better than vanilla. If he hadn't gotten lynched early, he could have prolonged the lives of KoD or Numbers. Theoretically, it would be possible for the cop to live 3 days after revealing his identity, even if scum also knew the doc's identify.

I think town just got unlucky losing JaC in a d1 Ambar lynch (I think JaC should have probably claimed his role d1) and both the power roles misplayed by drawing too much attention.

the power roles didn't misplay, the rest of the town left them out to dry. they only got all that attention because no one else did anything noteworthy.

I agree that JaC misplayed, but I'm not convinced that the smart move was claiming since they didn't know who their targets were. but they knew they were likely to die early so playing for the long game like normal seems like a bad plan. should've been active early to drive connections that other people could look back at once their alignment was known.

So anyways, being doc sucks. Especially if you're me. Typically my playstyle doesn't translate to longevity as town. Normally a doc would just lay back and play the rather lurker card. Clearly that's not going to set off bells and whistles immediately if I do it. So my philosophy this game was aimed at trying to make myself look scummy enough that mafia would continually leave me be hoping for a mislynch but not scummy enough to actually get lynched. I don't think I did this so well. But yeah.

As for targets, I was trying to paint Scar as a n/k target day 1. WIFOM stuff and what not, so I could set up a more likely target for myself. Then Scar had to go and die. Knee jerk reaction was that Ambar would be seen as con town if not scum and then would be most likely target. The next night I had no real solid town reads. Took a shot in the dark.

I'd say that the doc and cop being so active wouldn't even have been so bad if
A)they didn't start suspecting each other.
B)ambar wasn't softcleared,thus giving the doc another likely nightkill to protect D1.
@jd:frankly your softclaim felt like softclaiming a negative utility role and that kind of role felt kind of improbable to me D2 adding another reason for me to wanting you lynched.sorry.

The only softclaim in this game was the thirty seconds (not literally) I had David Tenant set as my avatar.

I just assumed it was some relevant date for that stupid show.
