Hm. Seems like the consequences of our circles may appear in how we vote. This strikes me as a thematic result of our circle.

Just to get confirmation has anyone actually claimed inferno yet? I know some people have said what layer of hell they are in but the entire games takes place in hell so that's hardly an admittance of allegiance. Just wondering if I missed a post or two somewhere.

It seems we know who is in the circle with us. I've got three other people in the circle with me. I have no idea what this circle's properties are.

I don't think it would be too powerful for the others not in the circle knowing what circle we are in, I was placed in the fourth circle, greed.

I am here. I am currently in the third circle (gluttony). I do not know what the circle's effects are, but I do know that I am not alone here.

I will not want to vote yet, but I do find it interesting that the votecount doesn't match the actual votes. The way I see it, there are three possible ways for that to happen:
1. Some players' votes count double (which would explain Neo's count, but not Razor's, so it would have to be combined with either of the other possibilities)
2. Some players can vote anonymously, presumably via PM.
3. Voting for certain people could cause you to get penalized through an increase of your own votecount. This could be an ability attached to alt and/or Scarlet, or it could be a attached to a certain layer of Hell.

I can pretty much confirm through comparing who's on the same level as me with the current standings that it isn't tied to level.

If it isn't then you must have an ability to causes extra votes / extra pressure. From your post it sounds like two people have it. If you could clarify a bit more how you mean that; I don't know how it can be explicitly confirmed otherwise? Here is how I see things...

As an overall summary: I think that the only way you can confirm that it isn't tied to level is that you know someone else's ability; or that it is actually tied to level and you're bluffing.

You voted Scarlet, but nobody voted you or scarlet so there doesn't appear to be a paper trail to follow in that regard. That means it could be a negative ability for you, or someonoe can vote secretly. If you know that it isn't tied to the level, then it must be because you have some ability that lets you vote secretly. If you can confirm that, it seems like you also know the other players ability; this makes it seem like one of two things: you and that person are on the same team; or you were lying when you said you can confirm that its not tied to level; or both. That said, if it's an ability where people can vote secretly, it would make sense for them to try and vote each other off so that they don't have to worry about being secretly voted against.

NeoSilk voted me and I voted him, it appears that there could be a potential revenge extra vote according to the paper trail. But knowing also what you said, it could also be that you AND someone else has the ability to vote secretly which would be the reason you could confirm it in the first place.

So, first off, I'm in the Heresy circle, or the 6th circle. For the sake of in-game etiquette I will not disclose who's heresy-ing it up with me. It is not my home circle.

Second, I hypothesize something happens to you when you vote. It's either based on alignment, role, or the circle of hell you're in.

To test this, or at least to prod the boundaries of the game, I will try something unconventional and see what happens when the votes are tallied.

I said I can "pretty much confirm". I don't actually have confirmation, but the mechanics of it being layer-related would have to be incredibly convoluted.

here, I'll just give some info away: Scarlet is on the same level as me. neither Neo nor Altimis is. so it can't be layer-related based on the individual with the phantom vote, because Neo and I are not on the same layer. it can't be layer-related based on the individual that person voted for, because Altimis and Scarlet are not on the same layer. the only remaining possibility is that you get a vote if you vote for someone on the same layer as you no matter what layer you're on, I don't know if you and Neo are on the same layer. other than those possibilities, I can't think of a way it could be layer-related.

@razorborne, the vote on you could be coming from your circle. Unless when you say Scarlet is in your circle you mean Shockwave?



Possiblities:

- razorborne's circle gives a nega-vote when you vote.
- Altimis or shockwave's circle gives a double vote.Altimis is in anger, so his circle could provide a revenge vote. We'll see with the next vote count since Neosilk unvoted him.
- Scarlet has an ability to give a nega-vote on those voting for him. I have to wait until the vote count comes out to test this since Hello_World is voting for me and I don't want to taint the results.
-Altimis or shockwave have an ability to have a double vote.
-Someone has the ability to vote secretly

Here's another oddity: I was told that Scarlet was in my circle, Razor believes that Scarlet is in his circle. But my PM did not mention Razor. Either I cannot see Razor for some reason, or Scarlet is in several circles at once.

Razor, did your PM list me as being in the same circle as you?

my guess is the last one. the first I can confirm as inaccurate. the rest are possible but require two separate sources. although really a ghost double-vote is pretty broken, so maybe it's not that after all.
