The lizard creature forced air through his nostrils in a huff, "Can't help the type of body I inhabit, or the lack of magic assistance, so I have to do things the mundane way. That a problem? Either way as soon as I'm done eating I'll head out. Hopefully someone needs a little correction,"

And ate the rate he was eating it wouldn't be long.

Hexion awoke quietly in the tavern's room.
A dim light shone through the window, the norm in Sigil. But to her eyes, the light seemed to dance lightly on the room's floor, and it was not only because the dim light better suited her eyes.
As she rose from her bed, a faint smile found its way to her lips, though what may have caused it is anyone's guess. Checking the other beds and finding her roommate missing, she quickly braided her single streak of white hair and dressed in a set of bright robes, humming a simple tune all the while.
Finally, she stuffed what little of her possession remained in the room, including the heavy-set robes she wore the day before, and left the room.

When she walked onto the tavern floor, she found the others of her companionship already gathered and partaking in breakfast.
"Good morning," she greeted with a smile. "I do hope you all had a great night of sleep. I look forward to working with you all today."

"Not a problem at all," replies Sparrow pleasantly. "I only make note because back home in [UNKNOWN CITY OF ORIGIN] it is commonplace for an adventurer or mercenary to obtain a ring. It's a symbol of their craft, and a good deal worth it so that they are caught unaware and asleep less often. You all not having one and needing so much sleep is... cute." He goes back to munching on his food, periodically tossing pieces to Ripper, Fang, Claw and Talon in turn, making sure his companions are well fed and ready for the day's work.

At Hexion's words, Sparrow looks up and gives a broad smile. "Good morning to you as well, miss."

"Well now, let's not all get too talkative," Sparrow remarks to his quiet companions. "Did we all get our orders, or are we waiting on one of the Voices to let us know where they want us to stand and look fearsome?"

The last bite of his food washed down, the scaled mercenary spoke. "Yeah, yeah, I hear ya. Just gettin' a bit lost in thought where patrols and investigatin' would best be done. Hive district migrant rumors are something I want to follow up on,"

Seija emerges a little bit later than the others, in a slightly less than pleasant mood. She looks carefully around the room as she approaches her companions, trying to ensure that there's no one paying inordinate attention to them.

"So," she says, "I guess we get our start today, but what does everyone think of our employers?"

"I think they're paying us and we're their mercenaries," replies Sparrow. "We're getting paid to be seen and to fight if need be, so it all seems fairly cut and dry for now."

While the part eats their fill Bald Grum, apparently satisfied with the cleanliness of his bar, makes his way over to the group with a roll of heavy parchment clasped in his hand. "Well now I'm sure you're ready to head out and get a feel for the district. If you need any advise about where ta look I'll-" The barkeep is interrupted as the door to The Whisper Word is pushed open. A young boy, no more then ten, rushes in before stopping dead in his tracks. His gaze wanders to the adventures for a moment before he rushes to Grum's side and, yanking the tall man down, whispers something into his ear. Nodding, Grum passes the child one of the loaves from the table and sends him on his way.

"Sorry about that. Seems the false dusties got wind of you staying here and got you a welcoming present - vandalizing the old skull shrine at the bottom of shuffle street in your name. You know it? Oh right yeah..." Grum takes the parchment he was holding and unfurls it onto the table - it is a map of the Grey District. He presses a finger against the top of Wailers Square. "We're here and the shrine is...here." He trails his finger down Shuffle Street at stops at the very end of it. "Good a place to start as any - though it's probably going to be like that for a while so if you have other things you feel more important it'll wait. The maps yours by the way. Consider it part of the payment." Grum flashes a smile as he adds the last line though your not entirely sure he's joking.

"Looks like our work has started, time to earn our keep," says Sparrow. He checks himself over, his hands running along his body touching his weapon, holy symbol, ring and ensuring his clothing is in place and not in his way for movement. He gives a quick sharp whistle and his animal companions join him. He mounts up on Ripper and heads outside. Once outside he holds his right arm out in front of himself and makes a clicking sound for Talon. Once his companions has landed on his arms he says, "Talon, go scout ahead, due South for the trouble. Do not engage." At his last words, he flicks his right arm up and has Talon take flight. Using both hands, he gives a quick slap on his thighs to call Fang to his left and Claw to his right. Once his companions are in place, he'll march down the street with whoever else decides to join him outside.

"Might as well hurry there while the scene is fresh," Garemello ducked back to his room for his pack, bow, and quiver. Then he hustled on his way to the scene.

Hexion quickly stood up at the news, still smiling.

"Well, then, what are we waiting for? Let's be on our way!", she exclaimed a little too cheerfully. She seemed for all the world a little girl who couldn't wait to go to a picnic.

Your journey from the Whispered Word is almost entirely uneventful and while your passing garners little outside of the occasional greeting you notice more than a few people seems to be tagging along after you - perhaps to see their 'heroes' in action.

A small crowd has gathered around the Skull Shrine when you arrive though a gap is quickly made as you approach allowing you to entire the scene. The shrine itself is a strange site to behold; over three dozen ancient skulls - many humanoid but some clearly not, have been nailed to a long stretch of wall with a mad precision that would be disconcerting to look upon. Or it would be had the effect not been ruined somewhat by what you assume is the handy-work of the false dustmen. Many of the skulls have been painted in garish colours and the wall itself has been 'decorated' with all manner of swirls, spots and blotches of wild colours. Proudly displayed in bright red letters at the center of the shrine is painting a message. Your Heroes. Needed Not. Disappear.

Garemello let out a heavy sigh, while a Dustmen monuement he could still appreciate that it was one to a fate all living creatures came to. These false dusties struck again and wrote graffiti that a half drunk goblin could have done... Maybe.

"Perhaps there is a clue in this mess they left,"

"How quaint. They've brought a measure of brightness to this dark corner of Sigil," commented Hexion, drawing some incredulous glances from the crowd gathered around. She continued, oblivious.
"But this, this will not do. Their boorish style does so offend me."

She looked around about her, meeting more than a few eyes that quickly glanced away, a fact that only served to draw a smile from her..
I wonder if the culprits are still about?

The lizardfolk Doomguard seems to miss the chatter around him for a little as his senses are seized by the Breakers trade secret. "Forget how vivid those can be," He turns to face his companions. "Three of them involved in this. And ask about any lantern patrols at night. Someone saw them, but didn't act,"

"You know," Seija said, "I don't know what's more worrisome... that the patrols wouldn't do a thing about them, or that they seem to know about us. I wouldn't be surprised if the fakers had someone in the bar that night, would you?"

"So, no fight, then?" asks Sparrow. "That seems like a colossal waste of time, then." He studies the words on the shrine. "Well, we knew people weren't going to like us, guess this only confirms it."

Hexion seemed distracted for a moment, but at Garemello's words, she turned back around to face the group, to face Sparrow.

"I believe you said were out late last night. Would you have happen to have been in the area, Mr... hm. I seemed to have missed your name."
