I feel like this is ominous in a Rag absorbed a fetal twin sort of way.

The "Well, That Sucks" Tell
The general form of this tell is "a player who comments on the outcome of a night when that outcome was detrimental to one or more factions is very probably scum".

This tell usually appears when a no-kill night occurs (or a low-kill night in a game with many killing roles) or when one or more major power roles is NK'ed.

Rag, did you try to kill me or something?

I'm literally never going to recruit anyone into my cult.

It is true that I'm trying to fish out people who are willing to get culted, though. Not so that I can recruit them but so that whatever cult I end up in has less competition.

This game can't end until only one player is culting people unless we kill the players who are unwilling to stop.

Sounds exactly like something somebody who is trying to secretly recruit everybody would say...

Well, given that we're allowed to communicate outside the game, you can always tell people that you've recruited them (although they might not be able to confirm it). If you are able to convince someone that they are no longer in control of their own fate they will hopefully stop converting people.

Also, I just realized that if two people target each other, neither one can win.

Well I mean you could just cult yourself later on to return yourself to your own cult of you're worried about not winning (although it'd be impossible for you to lose while alive if you have people in your cult, as that would prevent the base cult win con). The soundest strategy for this game is probably to not worry about being in your own cult until the end.

it also sounds like something literally everyone else would say

because this game literally can't end with two people who are too stubborn to stop culting people simultaneously alive

@Rubik, your logic is basically "if we don't play to our win con we can end the game quicker", which applies to all games. It's also pretty **** logic.

Something I would like clarification on: Does the basic Culting ability convert to your Origin Cult or Current Cult? That is, if I'm Tevish Szat, who started as Cult of Tevish Szat, but I've been converted to Cult of Rubik, do I thereafter convert people to Cult of Tevish Szat or Cult of Rubik?

from the OP

pretty sure it changes them to your original cult

I confirmed earlier with Zinger, it is your original cult.

I'm honestly at a loss as to how this is meant to go then. Fastest way would probably be to agree on one cult to get on board with and hammer NL each day. I'm fine winning with any cult, but mine is vanilla and should now include Rag as well as myself, unless anyone else culted me or culted rag and that took effect so that's one of the "night ahead" sorts. This will be news to rag, I was assuming culted individuals would function as repeaters. So far no one has insisted on winning with their own cult, so I propose we just allow the dark work to occur and am willing to take this as far as it goes.

the two obvious ways for the game to end are for every player to be lynched but one or two, depending on how cult resolution works, and for some ability we don't know about to have a means of ending the game.

I'm fine with going for a tevish cult win
