You have access to the spectator thread? Interesting.

Traditionally, in Mafia terms, the "Mayor" role is the same as what we usually call "Charismatic" around here. Someone who gets two (or more) votes in the Lynch. Is this what you mean?

According to a little research, "Mayor" is a role that blocks Lynch at twilight, yes?

You're thinking of the seldom used "Governor" Role. Not the same.

But why do people in the Spectator thread want to know, Mown?

As much as everyone plays mafia, I'd be surprised if they didn't know what the Mayor role did.

yeah, it's not really all that impressive of an ability, considering I have little control over its effect, but I find it highly entertaining.
I hope that they will be my friend as the person closest to them, but Rubik seems like he'd rather see us suffer, so my hopes aren't very high.
Speaking of, do you Spectators have any individual abilities and/or alignments? My gut feeling is that you're all unaligned, but that would be really sad, since then it'd be hard to convince you to contribute in a positive way.

The Spectators can vote? That might be a significant game changer.

@Mod, can we get a votecount, please?

I didn't actually say they did at any point.
Anyway, idk why I am being so coy with information.

I can look at the spectator QT. Spectators have a bunch of voting abilities, which if they cooperate, can affect the main game. They collectively have a vote each day, as well as deciding ties. Additionally, they can both co-opt the lynch and veto a lynch one time each. Each day, they can grant one person at a time Mayoral abilities (effect not specified), and/or make someone a vanilla. Rubik is a terrible person, so of course the first thing he proposed was making Rag Mayor, before then alluding to making everyone vanilla.

They also possess you if you're absent from the game, and then there's some opt-in system that is written pretty poorly, so I don't actually understand how it works, but it looks like they can leave the QT to be part of a hydra without really any other effect.

None of the spectators have actually voted for any of the aforementioned options so far.

A mayor is a leader of a municipality.

Mayor being used to describe charismatic is not common in the history of Px2 AFAIK. I vaguely recall the term mayor being used once or twice in the past to refer to more kingmaker style roles, but I could be mistaken. (I think there was an infamous game where PK was the mayor, and he was confirmed town but was actually scum, or something?)

anyway i'd assume in this instance that it refers to an effect tailored to this game and not to doubling someone's vote, although asking for clarification is clearly the best course of action

Ah, "Mayor" on a mafia wiki redirected to "Governor" so I assumed they were synonyms (See Charismatic/Double-voter/apparently what Mayor actually means)

@MOD: So, to be clear, the only way to end the Day without a Lynch is if NOBODY is voting for ANYBODY at the end of the Day?

That's going to make my job much harder than I thought.

@Silly, request you unvote.

@Everyone, I am in favour of ending Day 1 (and, quite possibly, other Days) without a Lynch. If you are in favour of a Lynch for Day 1, you are directly opposed to what I perceive is the easiest avenue for Town victory. I expect a detailed explanation as to why you believe Lynching on Day 1 is the best course of action, and I'd like you to take everything I have said into account during your explanation.

:wha:

Yes. Scum must die.

I have a BETTER way to kill scum than by Lynching random people we think to be scummy. My method is QUANTIFIABLE and PROVABLE, given just a few Days of testing. Presuming I am being honest, and there isn't bastardry involved, can you explain to me why we shouldn't try my plan to pass the Day without a Lynch?

In fact, I would like EVERYONE to answer this question, not just KoD.

I decline to answer that question. However, as in all...maybe most...of my games, the only way to no lynch is there to be no votes present.

The problem is that's a lot of presumptions from the point of view of anyone who's not you, especially when you've made bold claims, but haven't shown us the avenue. If your role's route to victory really was as fool-proof as you've suggested (Provable, and you 'aren't afraid of night kills'), I don't think you'd be playing quite so cagey.

And the fact that this is a bastard game is in the name, so that's one dangerous presumption.

I think, if you really want everyone to get behind your program, you're going to need to full claim, or at least fully claim the proactive mechanics of your role; you can obviously stay silent on any self-protection abilities you may or may not possess so as to avoid the foiling of them.
