I'm going to give the thread a re-read and see if I can find anything else that seems scummy from him in retrospect.
See, this is part of what bothers me.
You're going to give the thread a re-read and see if you can find stuff from me that seems scummy.
Anyone notice the issue with that?
If you're actually giving the thread a re-read you shouldn't be focusing on just one player's scuminess. You should be looking at each player's scuminess.
Building cases is fine and all, and I'm sure you can find scuminess on me, but at this point, with the primary active players gone, who can't you find dirt on? It's not the dirt that's the issue, but rather the reactions to the dirt.
Let's look at Lilan for a bit. Bandwagons a bunch, has shoddy reasoning, starts a wagon on me. Of those, none imply scuminess, but are most likely just weird reads. I'll admit, I haven't been the most helpful to town this game, but I've done more than some, less than some, and I don't think it's quite a "fair" thing to tunnel in on me. All that time you are spending on a re-read and you're focusing on 1 specific player. I think emphasizing stuff on me is fine, but looking for stuff on me primarily isn't exactly going to get very far.
As for defending bad players, that's actually irrelevant. The skill level of a player is not a factor on alignment, and if you'd have actually noticed what I had been posting you'd have probably come to a different conclusion. I defended bad players under certain circumstances, not just "bad players". I attempted to refute certain styles of attack that are unfairly leveraged against newer players. It seems a bit fishy for Rag to go after me and you to jump on so quick, but it seems even more so when your case is just trash.
Moreover, I don't actually think that using my viewpoints on lynching active players against me is particularly strong or relevant. First of all, it's not an indication I'm scum, as it's happened in many games I haven't been a part of. I get that as mafia you'd like to create cases, and I get that as town you'd like for it to be that simple, but it really isn't. There are players aware of my viewpoints, and who are smart enough as mafia to use my vocality of a topic against me. This by no means clears me, but analyzing the state of the game should indicate that lynching the active players is a null tell on my part.
Moreover, I'm not actually sure which one is more likely to be scum, Lilan or Rubik. To me, Lilan just reads as Lilan doing things without thinking them through. Rubik, on the other hand, is more decisive and planning, at least from the games I've seen him in, so I think he is more likely mafia than Lilan.
