I say everyone gets one guess, before you reveal

Razorborne, Bentz, Roaring Mouse would be mine

Replace Razor with Mown and you'll have mine, assuming Aaaaargh and razor are telling the truth now that the game is declared over.

Aaarrrgh, seTiny and Squinty, obvs. This is what raz gets for not listening to me.

it's not me. now I'm confused because Mown and Aaargh have both made post-game posts indicating that they're not it. I'm pretty sure I got played by Mown, but it's possible I **** up on Tiny. I'd be shocked and appalled if Zherog betrayed me.

An unintended but welcome side-effect, I must admit.

If anyone wants a hint, then I'll say that I wouldn't blame my teammates for hating me

Zherog wasn't playing you - he was a White Hat.

All I can say is that my next guess after Alt/Squinty/argh was Alt/squinty/mown.
I wanted to continue with tiny/me/RM/Zherog/Razor. But it looked like argh+Zherog+Razor suspect me more than Mown, So I had to take a guess with Mown.

Well, that's enough suspense for me. It was Mown, Squinty and Tiny

Well, I had Squinty right. Mown did a good snow-job on my, and I was convinced it was Aaargh from the first team (though on the plus, I was also convinced Razor was a White Hat, so I had that right, too - which is good because I made the decision to more or less follow his lead since he seemed less confused than me.)

Tiny was in that group I didn't feel comfortable with, along with bentz and mouse. But for everything Bentz said that I thought was wrong, his conclusions ended up in the same area as mine. That really gave me trouble - it meant he was either a White Hat and I needed to drop my suspicion of him, or he was a Black Hat who was playing mind games with me. I never really did get a good feel on this group of people, though.

I'm not sure I'll play this one again, to be honest. I'll need to re-read the thread now that I know who the spies are and see if I can spot any patterns or anything. But I just found it too confusing without any facts to work with.

important lesson: never assume razor knows what's going on just because razor insists he knows what's going on. if you learn nothing else here, at least learn that.

Yeah, 9 players straight is very hard. Especially on a forum game, where you can't read faces. Playing this game IRL requires a lot of looking at people's eyes. If there had been special roles or plot cards, we might have had a chance. Once my schedule clears up (should be in late August), I want to run a game with a variation of the plot cards. I think that could be fun.

I had a lot of fun with this, it was my first time playing a Black Hat in any game.

I didn't actually have any plans for people to trust me, I actually intended to run the aaarrrgh x Mown train until the end. Maybe I shouldn't have joined the conversation with altimis, but I can't stand not telling people that they're wrong on the internet.

I might just be defeatist, but I don't think plot cards help all that much. The spies can use them as well, possibly better than other people.

It doesn't have any less facts than mafia though. Arguably more.

But seeing how people use plot cards, no matter their alignment, is another factor of information. And extra information is always good for the resistance.
