rubik probably didn't have access to all the details of the wolfs machinations.

this line is a pretty good tell. Mafiascum is one of the largest mafia communities and they've actually gone through the trouble of compiling and evaluating the effectiveness of various tells. One of the stronger tells they found, i believe, is a replacement reading back on their predecessors play and saying that they found it scummy. I wasn't huge on that tell, but it was well established and its effectiveness had been proven over a long period of time.

Eventually, I came up with my own theories for why it worked the way it did. I think scum replacements are more likely to criticise their predecessors play than town replacements because scum replacements look at their predecessors play from the perspective of knowing that player is scum. Its similar to the hindsight bias. When you read a scum players actions after the game is over, it becomes a lot clearer to you that their play was scummy, and you may even wonder how you missed it while the game was ongoing.

Freddeh demonstrated this bias in his post when he evaluated his own play as scummy, and I feel as though I am able to apply the proven replacement tell to him using the understanding of why that tell is effective.

I feel as though Freddeh is the strongest candidate for scum right now.

For what it's worth, I will not be replacing Fred today (as in game day). This is not to be perceived as a behind the scenes ploy where Fred has secretly been pulling strings, but rather he requested replacement in the middle of a very busy IRL time for me and I quite simply didn't get around to it until day was short. Rather than try and plug somebody in at the last minute, I simply decided to replace him over the night.

Feel free to lynch him if you still want, I'm lazy and don't really mind not having to message people about replacing anyway. Just an FYI that it is on my agenda.

Lilan was high on my list, but, in the absence of another hunter claim, I see no reason not to believe.

Right now, I'm really torn between Tiny and Freddeh for my vote. The results I got last night scream to get Tiny, but alot of me just really wants to lynch someone that's been that inactive, even though it's unlikely that he's the wolf....

I might be convinced to move to Freddeh, but for now, I'm going to leave my vote where it is. The results, coupled with the upswing in activity since you became a suspect combine to convince me that you are, in fact, the wolf.

Under normal circumstances I would be tempted to lynch tiny, but the more I mull on it, the less I want to trust the guardsman's sanity. The flavour would indicate that in general "results may be untrustworthy", without outright saying it. We don't know if they are untrustworthy or not and if they are in what specific ways they are. Its also standard design philosophy to not include both a strong investigative role and a strong protective role in the same game. If the healer is a straight doctor, then the guardsman probably has drawbacks associated with it.

Ultimately, we should treat the guardsman's results as indicative of something but not as absolute evidence. Tiny's result is a strike against him, but his actions read town to me, and so I don't support lynching him.
