You do indeed believe you heard some kind of cacophonous blast above...but then soon dismiss it as one of the many hallucinations your mind no doubt conjure up to keep you remotely sane.
Graydon
You easily lower yourself into the pit and deftly avoid accidentally pricking yourself on the spikes. From here you are able to get a better look at the secret door. The surface of the door appears to be no different than the stone walls of the pit itself, and if not for the tiny crack contour you wouldn't even guess that this was a door. The size of the door is such that it could easily accommodate a small person, or a medium person while squeezing. However, one peculiar thing about the door is that you can find no discernible means of opening it. Pushing against it yields no results, and there is certainly no handle of any kind. Perhaps it doesn't open from this side? Or if it does, the method of opening it is so obscure that you can't figure it out.
You do feel more at ease being that you are now out of sight from that green devil.
Thibor
Arcana: You definitely detect magic emanating from this misty archway, but a cursory glance of the unnatural swirling patterns of the mist, or the glowing stones, could have easily confirmed that. Your skills are not able to discern what type of magic, nor what strength of it, is present. Perception: The stone archway itself is made of large, smoothly cut stones. The three largest stones in the arch are the ones that are lit up with the aforementioned colours (Blue at the top, Yellow and Orange at the bottom). The mist itself is damp to the touch, thick enough that you can't even see a foot into the arch, and white in colour. You see no obvious source of the mist, and it abruptly stops itself from overflowing outside of the arch that it hangs under. It just hangs there in the air swirling in unnatural patterns. History: It's an archway. There's been millions of stone archways constructed just like this one throughout history. The peculiar elements are the mist and glowing stones. Glowing runes built into an archway usually signifies some variety of protection spell preventing specified targets from entering, but these aren't runes; the stones themselves are glowing, that is unusual. As for the mist, typically, in this context, mist has been used as a magical alternative to drapes or curtains. It is possible that the mist is simply there to do nothing more than obscure sight of the passage beyond. But again, we're talking historical instances of these signs...and nothing you've seen so far in this Tomb has been consistent with historical dungeon construction. At this point, your guess is as good as anyone's.
Stone Archway
Jiardem
A ghostly hand appears hovering before you.
"Quinn. Can you hear us in here?"Jiardem shouts into the mist. 5 seconds go by in silence. Then 10. Still no response.
"This portal doesn't look good to me, clearly not safe. Normally we would be able to see the other side and the mist would be spilling here. Why are you, faeries, always running to hug pink and misty things? I swear I don't understand your race. But wherever you are I hope you are well, Quinn." Thibor says trying to rationalize Quinn's disappearance, but believing he is already dead somewhere.
Then Thibor touches one of the shinning gems with the tip of his hammer, far away, to see if it is safe to touch with his hands.

As Jiardem was about to fetch something accompanied by his ghostly wizened yellow hand, he responded to Thibor. "Only fools hug pink strange mists... I must say you have the strangest ideas about the elven races," He intentionally neglected the point in the difference in Eladrin and Elves, most others seemed to not understand the difference if subtle. It wasn't long before he returned with a quarterstaff in the ghost hand.
The young Eladrin, by his own kinds view on years, moves to just the right of and behind Thibor hoping to do a few tests. "I can't say I'm as bold as Quinn, but if we take no action nothing will ever get done,"
Actions
Move to P32. Sustain Mage Hand. Retrieve Quarterstaff from Wagon Equipment. Grab with Mage Hand.
Use move action to move R32 using Mage Hand to probe through the fog.
Cast Light (Cantrip) inside the mouth of the Green Devil Face.
Light
Arcane • Minor Action Ranged 5 • Target: one object or unoccupied space. Effect: You cause the target to shed bright light. The light fills the target's square and all squares with 4 squares of it. This lasts for 5 minutes. You may extinguish this light as a free action. Special: You may only have one light at a time. If you start another light the previous one is extinguished.

Agamemnon walks over to see what the commotion is all about. Inspecting the mist-spewing door and the green devil head who ponders for a moment more before shrugging. "Well might as well see what these do." Without another pauses he charges, weapon raised, into the mouth of the green demon.

For some reason, Jiardem runs off to recover something from the bundle of equipment you have stored outside. You pay it no heed, as the more important task for the moment is undoubtedly finding out what happened to Quinn. You begin your process of examining the stones, first by touching the Orange one with your hammer. The stone seems to react to being touched by slowly blinking in and out. You heard a faint chime, apparently coming from the stone, when you pressed it. You begin counting the seconds, wondering if the blinking has a duration of any kind, when just then Agamemnon spoke up from behind you. "Well might as well see what these do," he said, before boldly charging forth, weapon raised, into the mouth of the great green devil. A moment later, Jiardem returns, eager to test his theory and seemingly oblivious that you are now down another man, and begins poking the mist with a stick.
Make a Perception check, and a Religion check please.
Jiardem
You quickly run out of this tunnel and climb through the rocky entrance and make your way outside. The sailor is still waiting by your bundle of equipment, guarding them. He is pleased to see you, at first, hoping that your arrival might bring an end to this adventure (he is admittedly a little freaked out by this place). You tell him otherwise, grab the extra quarterstaff and rush back into the Tomb. Getting up next to Thibor once again, you place the staff in your mage hand and move it into the mist. As soon as your mage hand enters the mist your spell ends, presumably dropping the staff on the other side. That's when you notice the incredulous look on Thibor's face and the fact that Agamemnon is no longer present.
Agamemnon
Not wanting to be out-braved by a Bard, you charge into the mouth of the great green devil, weapon high, and are swallowed up by the darkness therein. See PM for details.
Graydon
You spend a few moments contemplating your unique problem. From up above you hear the familiar voice of Agamemnon, saying "Well might as well see what these do," before running along the hallway making his typical loud footsteps. But this is no time to concern yourself with what's going on up top, you have a door to open! You kick the door with all your might and succeed only in hurting your foot. You take 1 damage, and then count yourself lucky that you didn't lose your balance doing that and fall over onto the spikes that surround you.
Henleber
You hear a mechanical "CHUNK" sound from up above, breaking the silence. Definitely louder than all the hallucinatory sounds you've heard till now. It is in fact a sound you remember, for you've heard that sound before... See PM for details.

Graydon gives the door another thump, and growls in frustration. "A door that doesn't open is just a slice of wall," he grumbles. Then, with a minimal amount of effort, he heaves himself out of the pit and back into the hallway.
Graydon looks around and curses. "By the gods Thibor, where in the name of the Raven Queen did everyone go?"

"Yet another anti-spell barrier... Or something. Did you say something Graydon?" Jiardem's eyes catch Thibor's and the absense of Agammenon. "Foolish eager green skin! ...Shall I try and fetch him?"
He begins a chant, readying a ball of light to throw into the demon's mouth.

Henleber looked up in shock at the spot of light and instantly grabbed his rope with grappling hook attached and swung it a few times before hurling it towards the edge of the trapdoor with all his strength. He used all of his hours of practice of using a sling to improve the throw. At this time, he did not call out as he had no idea who if anyone was still out there and the thought simply did not occur to him. 18 (plus whatever modifier, if it is dex: +10, if Athletics: +10, if others, you could probably check my sheet.

Graydon smirks at Jiardim--who must've just returned. Still, Quinn and Ag are both gone, and now Jia's hurling light into a wall demon's mouth? None of this makes sense to the party's handsome goliath. He moves over to the portal with the stones, the one Thibor is standing in front of, and lashes a rock to a piece of rope. He tosses it through the portal, then pulls the rope back and, assuming the rock is still there and the rope still intact, peers at it, wondering what, if anything, has changed about it.
Then he hears the clattering of metallic sounds, and looks around, ready for a fight. "That noise! What is it?" he whispers.

"Exactly! Yet Quinn did; and my other experiences with the elven race lead me to believe that is true. But that is a long story, that I will save for later."
Then Thibor gets distracted with the shinning gem reaction to his hammer touch. "Humm. Interesting!"

You cast Light into the green-devil's mouth, but your spell fails. It seems your magic is not strong enough to pierce this veil of supernatural darkness.
Henleber
Having spent years practising, you've gotten this down to almost a science! You succeed in fact on your first try.
See PM for details.
Graydon
Throwing the rock into the mist and pulling it back out on the rope yields no changes to the stone or the rope.
Thibor
After about 30 seconds, the Orange stone stops blinking and reverts back to its solid Orange colour, as it was before you pressed it. You notice no other changes to the misty archway, though when you divert your attention for a moment to talk to Graydon, you could have sworn you saw out of the corner of your eye the green devil face was smiling. After blinking and looking at it again though, you realize it hasn't changed and your imagination was probably just playing tricks on you...Probably.
Henleber tugs on the rope to make sure that it is secure and immediately starts climbing. He takes one backward glance on the fallen adventurer and decides that once he has secured the top of the trap against closing, he will come back down to see if he is alive. He then swings himself up the rope as fast as he can.

Graydon peers at the rock and shrugs, announcing, "Well there's no change from what I can see." He figures Thibor will keep being meticulous and testing the portal, so he walks over to the devil's face and scowls at it, peering inside its mouth without, you know, actually diving into its mouth.

I think it's somewhat hilarious Graydon doesn't know Ag dove into the demon's mouth.

"More darkness, lovely," Jiardem says before grabbing rope from his pack. More darkness probably meant another trap and it wouldn't do just to fall into it. Holding onto one end of the rope he tossed one end in.
This tomb is getting on my nerves already. People are disappearing and now I am seeing statues moving. Thibor says exasperated passing his hand over his face and closing his eyes for a moment. Ok, back to trying solve this portal. This mist could be poisonous or acid, otherwise why block its spilling. Thibor touches another gem, the blue one.

Henleber
You race up that rope swift as you possibly can and reach the top in about 36 seconds. You remember this place... a small ten by ten room with no way in or out. The room itself is featureless, save for the three levers that jut from the wall on your right. You seem to recall that pulling all of them down is what opened the floor beneath your feat. They are currently in the down position. Standing without a floor is difficult. You position yourself in one of the corners and push up against the wall for support. Even still, remaining here long won't be a piece of cake.
Of course, if the floor returned to normal that would make your stay easier...
Graydon
((ooc: not sure what your roll was for?))
You gaze into the blackness of the devil's mouth, and it gazes into you. Nothing else happens.
Jiardem
You walk over to the devil's mouth and toss your rope in. Instantly the rope is sucked in with incredible force, so much so and with such surprise that the end your are holding is ripped from your finger tips. Your rope is gone.
Thibor
Touching the blue gem yields a seemingly similar effect to the orange one, the stone blinks for about thirty seconds and then stops. Touching the yellow gem afterwards also yields a similar effect.

The confusion of the Tomb only seems to compound upon itself. Thibor remains stuck at the misty archway, perplexed by a puzzle of glowing stones he can't seem to solve, while Jiardem and Graydon stand before the Green Devil Face, equally perplexed by the darkness within. Jiardem attempts to cast light inside the maw of the devil, without success, and when that fails he tosses one end of his rope in while holding the other. The rope is suddenly pulled into the mouth with such speed and force that it is easily yanked from Jiardem's fingertips and disappears into the darkness. Quinn and Agamemnon are still missing.
Graydon
You notice something peculiar about the red tiles that form a path beneath Jiardem's feet. There is definitely patterns there.
