I considered the first one, but it seemed too riddled with confirmation bias on my part.
I'm very ignorant when it comes to most media. I googled "cats dogs theater" to see if I missed anything, somehow I didn't think to exclude one of them. Although the game was also over by that point, so maybe I would have gotten around to it. I know it exists, I just kind of forgot, since I haven't heard about it for at least 5 years or so.

Also I dont think it was Rubik because he stated would hint to knowing the location in his list form. To which he then listed the location as the second item in the second list, and then concluded the list with the location. Or am I the only one putting that level of effort into the puzzle :P

It hints to using patterns to hide the answer in plain sight, but also human brains are very good at pattern recognition and maybe I saw something he didnt intend.

ie second item in the second list is a uniform quality, and restating it at the end a subtle confirmation. Set up a pattern, repeat the answer on conclusion.

Edit:

Nevermind, I cancel this as over thinking + confirmation bias. One of his lists spells out the word HOTEL. He was totally the spy.

Yeah Zinger's answer was pretty overkill when paired with the location list. I dont think anyone in PbP doesnt know what he does.

While it is likely that my answer helped to confirm for the Spy our location, the Spy most likely had already figured it out by the time my answer came along, and if anything my answer just cemented it home for him or her.

The Spy probably had it narrowed down to 1 or 2 options from the page 1 list alone.

KoD is my guess, and I'm guessing he didn't have a good idea of where we were until zinger's answer.

Not sure if it's Eli, KoD, or Shippo, but it's one of them.

casino is the third item in rubik's third list, and also appears a total of three times in that list.

Would the spy like to come forward, or are you enjoying the wrong guesses too much?

Those were coincidences. Theater being last was not.

I'm going to throw my guess in and say Shippo is the spy. Her question, given Rubik's response, seemed a little open to me.

rubik's "favourite book" that i was referencing was bakemonogatari, which is a portmonteau of the words bakemono and monogatari. Theater can be split into the words "the" and "eater". I was hoping he would make that connection, at least. It was intended to be a question that would reveal the location to rubik but not to anyone else, such that once he didn't win the game we could confirm each other as non-spies and narrow the hunting pool.

It isn't Zinger of that I am sure. It isn't Eli because while he didn't catch my debate-Lincoln reference, I fully caught his use of role and mention of cats. I am confident it isn't Mown since he asked Zinger about coming here often. I'm sort of ok with assuming it isn't Rubik given the whole pattern with his lists.

I don't know about CL though since we never got around to him. Although I will say that if it isn't Shippo, then Mown would be my second guess since my thought on him is based on the end of game conversation concerning Zinger. Mown's answer to Rubik's question was to brush out off and his question was by far more broad than Shippo's.

Preview Edit:

I got that feeling.

I told people to scroll all the way through the list and "Theater" was at the end of the list. I figured it was subtle enough that anyone looking for a pattern without knowing the word would hit a red herring but anyone looking for theater would see it at the end and think "yup, that's the word".

If I were the spy I would have figured it out from KoD's hint, probably, likely not any sooner.
