As Agamemnon boldly charges forward he indeed does not get very far before he once again falls into a pit.
Damage!

Jiardem

"At this rate, we'll never make it to the end of the hall..." Quinn remarks, glumly, as he lowers himself to reach into the pit to offer Agamemnon a hand.

Jiardem pulls himself from the edge of the pit and stands seeing Agamennon not among them and another pit and shakes his head before taking a moment to tend to his wounds.

Quickly growing tired with falling face first into pits of spikes, though equally thankful his wounds have not been so severe, Agamemnon grasps hold of Quinn's hand and hauls himself out of the pit.

Thibor Cruxholder

Thibor slaps his face so loud that the sound echoes for the entire corridor. "For the beard of Moradin! Let's stop getting spiked, my friends. How can I take care of you all, if you don't take care of yourselves."

But at least this act of sheer stupidity served for a noble purpose, because now I know how the traps are activated. Thibor thinks to himself before speaking. "I knew I was right, the traps aren't triggered by weight, but by movement over them. Boy, be prepared to save my life and always remain 10 feet behind me and give only 10 feet of rope for my movement, because now Thibor Cruxholder will gain a victory over Acererak."

Then Thibor equips his hammer again and once more resumes his tedious advance over the deadly corridor, making his hammer hit the floor before him and waiting for the result before moving ahead, certain that now he achieved a small victory, with Graydon acting as an insurance.

Graydon nods at Thibor, and grabs a hold of the rope. "I'll follow behind directly, and match your steps and stride. Pit fellows, when you climbe out, follow the dwarf's path exactly as I do, and maybe by next week we can explore something more nefarious and sinister, like a broom closet, or quite possible a chamber pot closet." He shudders with terror.

Humm. It changed the pattern. It seems I will need to change my tactic too. Prepare to have a good looking beard Graydon, we will have to stay at this corridor for quite some time. It will actually be good for you. You will look more manly, better yet, like a giant dwarf.

Graydon rolls his eyes, but decides it's better to be safe than be dead. "You gents in the pit, maybe we can spread the checking for traps around and move down the hallway together? Might expedite things. I quite like my chiseled chin.

Quinn glances at both empty pits, and then back at Graydon. "Who're you talking to? Don't tell me the Tomb has already started driving you insane now. I didn't want to believe the stories..." He shakes his head, remembering that quite insane fellow who apparently escaped the Tomb and gave them the info needed to find this place. Finally, he takes a few steps cautiously forward, circling the opposite side of the newly discovered supposed pit trap, sticking to the red path and searching for traps of his own.

"No one wants to believe such things are possible. But just because they are does not mean that will be our fate. Does anybody else not feel quiet right after dropping down there?" Once again he waits to see if the worst of the poison passed taking just a drop of blood from his fresh wound and examining it.

"Wait a second... The weave of this magic is strange. A preservation spell for poisons?" Jiardem considers it for a couple more seconds before saying. "Certain elements of this spell remind me of Permanency, but altered,"

Careful to not set foot on the next trap Cruxhammer had found he moved past Quinn saying, "Pardon me," Standing on the tile just past the edge of the trap he turned and said to the rest of the tomb explorers. "Let me try something. You may want to hold your hands over your ears..."

"Sorry chaps, thought you were still in the pit." He claps his hands over his ears and winces at the thunderous cacophony assaulting the tiles ahead. "Did it work?" he says. He seems to be equal parts anxious and bored.

The powerful cacophonous blast thunders through the mosaic hall with a mighty echoing force. Had there been dust to lift off the ground it surely would have been thrown up in an explosive display of power, but, oddly enough, you remark with this blast how clean and immaculate this tunnel truly is. The mosaic tiles shake beneath your feet and, sure enough, a trap door does open in front of Jiardem.

"Smart move. I would not have thought of that myself," Quinn says as he motions for the Wizard to lead the way down the hall. "Of course, now everything that crawls in this dungeon knows we're coming..."

Thibor Cruxholder

"It lacked subtlety. Which is strange for an elf. But at least it is a better method of discovering the traps instead of being spiked by them." Thibor says. He picks his Eternal Chalk and uses it to mark all the trapped squares from before, as a precaution he writes them down at his travel book too.

Eternal Chalk

Then Thibor resumes his search with the same caution.

Thibor

As Thibor advances slowly but surly down the hall, his light shines on something of note: there appears, at the edge of your light's reach, to be an archway shrouded in billowing fog of some kind on the Eastern wall. The red winding path seems to split at some point, one end going through the archway and the other continuing down the hall. Upon noticing the archway, Quinn's interest is piqued, and he curiously advances forward with his torch held high to get a better look. Doing so reveals the apparent end of the hallway. Quinn gasps when his light shines upon it, for doing so illuminates the face of a great green devil set into the mosaic at the corridor's end.

"True Quinn, but still have to consider they already know we're here... I have seen this spell knock up more dust in well preserved temples,"

Considering Cruxholder's words he continued, "Plus whenever you go to learn your craft and one day features the proper use of a fireball spell you quickly realize that subtly isn't always the best solution. In context of course. Spike pits, collapsible roofs, fake doors..." Jiardem's voice trails off on the last two words. His eyes trace back across the mosaics, his feet following the safe path they as a group have found.

"Would a door like this truly be hidden in plain sight?" He considers the spiked pit just inches past his feet. "Probably,"
