Tovar and Nolan continue successfully wailing on this dragon that has never know an ounce of happiness, and clearly never will.

The goblin, sensing impending doom, runs as fast as he can, dodging by Lucian and uncaring or unaware that it leaves him momentarily vulnerable to an opportunity attack.

Aregano's next bolt of lightning surges toward the dragon, but goes a bit wide due to celebrating a bit too much over his last hair-raising attack.

"Get a move on gobber! You're distracting the cleric!"

Lucian begins conjuring up another blast of arcane energy when he hears Nolan shouting about the fleeing goblin. "Damn it priest can you not think of anything but your petty vengeance even when staring down the throat of a dragon? It's a goblin! Kick over a rock and odds are you'll find one under it. We have bigger things to worry about then your bruised ego!" In his tirade the energy he was gathering disperses harmlessly around the chamber.

Filler post. Dragon swipes, swipes, bites, and all miss Tovar. Libi connects. Flint doesn't. Tovar's turn.

Tovar screams Enough. It's time to end this! His eyes roll back in his head as his body starts to shake. He emits a huge howl as he starts to swing with the great sword, determined to end this as quickly as he can. The swings come with a strength that seems almost inhuman. He chops and chops at the dragon, each swing of the sword sinking deeper and deeper into it's body.

Tovar's hacking and slashing is sufficient to decapitate the infantile dragon. its severed head makes a soft sound as it falls to the snow-covered cavern floor.

"Where do you think you are going goblin? You cannot escape my wrath. I am powered by the death of my companions and the luck of my goddess." Nolan yells to the runaway goblin.

Nolan's wrath rings true, and his blast of holy energy slices the cheek right off the goblin's face, leaving it flapping like the tongue of a summer-exhausted mongrel. It screeches in horror and pain, squelching its cheek back onto its face and darting out of the cave, disappearing into the snow-saturated and dense forest around the cave. It will be horribly scarred for life, but the goblin will survive... for now.

The temperature in the cave starts to rise, and soon you hear the tinkling of water trickling down icicles and walls, mingling with the blood, thinning it into a sunset-soft melding of pink and light blue. The snow, once a dense impediment, seems to lighten, and traversing through the cave becomes as easy as walking across a tavern floor. A single pillar of sunlight tumbles through the open ceiling, greeted by the steam gently curling up from the dragon's severed neck.

Tovar picks up the head of the dragon. I expected something more impressive. Anyone hungry? He gives an evil grin.

Nolan approaches Tovar and he puts one hand over his shoulder. "Nice battle, beast. Impressive Kill. Do you want to join me against the vile hordes of evil later for more slaying?"

He thinks a little and asks him. "By the way, what's your name, beast? You deserve to be called by your own name."

Lucian shakes his head as he kneels down next to and inspects the remains of the dragon. "A shame it had to come to this. A pitiable thing; trapped and tormented by filth unfit to look upon her majesty. Used as a tool and cast aside when her purpose was finished. You should have ruled as a god here. You deserved better then this." He lowers his head and speaks softly in draconic before standing again. Moving past the corpse he makes his way to the mouth of the eastern tunnel and scans the way ahead.

Aregano's purple hand pops into existence and "raises" itself at Tovar's question of "hungry?"

Even as the goblin is exiting, Aregano is entering further, movnig through the snow drifts, taking the least difficult path to the carcass of the dragon.

When he gets there he starts to carve off a few steaks and store them in his pouch. Here and there he collects other odd ingredients like bits of horn and claws, eyeballs, teeth, and various bits of organs for later alchemical experiments.

"Nicely done, Tovar. Very nicely done."

As Lucian investigates the eastern extension, he discovers a small cavern fitted with several disheveled cots and two coffin-sized slabs of ice, each with a small chest in front of them. Picking through the cots, the party finds various treasures, some scraps and rough stones that look like they might be valuable, as well as the various remnants of Nolan's old party.

Lucian casts an eye over the looted treasures and begins to attempt to work out the combined value of the hoard. Shaking his head he lets out a small laugh when he realizes it is easily more then the entire tower has made in weeks - perhaps even months. Producing two empty sacks from his kit he begins loading the gemstone, gold and art pieces into them as carefully as he can while leaving the cache of healing potions aside for now. Turning his head back towards the main tunnels he shouts out. "Tovar get in here! I have need of a strong back. As for the rest of you you may each take two of the healing potions in that crate. The rest of the valuables will be returned to the Tower and there I will divide them into equal shares between us. I trust there are no objections?" Tying of the sacks shut he hauls one over his shoulder and passes the other to Tovar. At this point he makes his way over to Nolan. "Let is not be said that I am not a man of my word - your comrades equipment lies within the chamber. Take what you will - my men will not touch it. As for your share of the loot I trust you can endure our presence long enough to return to the Tower? I have little interest in dividing this up here and now when we have dragonborn and a caravan waiting for our return."

Tovar puts the dragon head on the ground and heads over towards Lucian.

Wow, looks like we'll be eating well for a while! He takes the sack and pockets two healing potions.

What's next, boss? Enough time for a light repast he says eyeing the dragon.

Tovar! This's the beast's name. Nolan thinks to himself. I wonder if the beast is willing to kill orcs, being him partially one of them. And from now on I will call that fat eladrin, Goblin Lover. That's what he is.

Then Nolan moves close to Lucian while looking at his comrades's items. He stops right at Spartacus's sword. "I will use this sword as a badge of honor. You will continue your adventures through me, my great friend Spartacus. But first I will perform the funeral rituals for you and the rest of our companions and then I must pray in penance, because I sinned when I desired for revenge."

Aregano finishes his carving of the carcass, and waddles over with squelching steps to grab 2 of the potions, and pops them in his pouch.

"Tovar, if you've a hankering for a dragon steak right now, then let's get that taken care of! If you can bring me back some fire wood, I'll get us a nice blaze going and roast a couple of these to perfection. If the others don't want to fill their bellies right now, we can catch up with them soon enough."

"If you need to rest make it a short one. Tend you wounds and eat something; though I would leave the dragon. She has suffered much and I will not have you further her shame to sate your voracious appetite - and this applies to you as well Aregano. I will pretend I didn't hear you just now and trust you will do what I ask. When you all are rested we set out - I intend to make it back to that inn before the caravan writes us off as dead and continues on without us. One we reach it we can have a proper nights rest before finishing that mundanity." Slipping two of the healing potions into his coat he makes his way to the least filthy looking cot and lays down for a few minutes rest.

Tovar sits down. A rest suddenly seems like a good idea.

Nolan is completely absorbed now in the funeral rites for his fallen companions. Their souls deserve a better treatment at the afterlife than their bodies at the corporeal life.
