Lomendil gladly hands over a silver as well as a few coppers for a tip and then heads out with Norston to return to their contact. As he went, he decided to try something with Norston, and muttered a few words:

Try whispering back when I send, let me see if there is a way I can hear that.

Whisper something back? What do you mean? Norston thought as he tried to send those exact words in his thoughts back to Lomendil. There was confusion in the voice of his thoughts as he never took to understanding magic beyond the fact that it existed.

Whis...ting back? What mean?

Lomendil almost lost his composure as he received a confused reply. It seemed that this cantrip did permit him to receive someone else's thoughts as a reply. Obviously it would take practice but still....

I understood some of that. I think with practice it will be easier. Now, to our contact.

"We're back, and we have more," Norston says announcing their return to Marcus. "You wouldn't happen to have a contact that's kept track of the family members of certain counsel members would you?" Norston wants to smile, but over his fifty-eight years of being alive he knows that things don't always work as planned.

"Just the ones that matter and which family."

"I see..for something this sensitive, I think it's time that you meet the boss and inform her of what you have found."

I see. How much time do we have to clean up beforehand and when will we be told where to go?

This was a surprise, Lomendil had heard much of the speculation of who the head of the organization was but had never yet met them, simply hearing it was a her was more than he had previously known for sure.

"You'll meet her tomorrow. I'll meet you here and we'll go from there."

Norston nods. His chance to join the Angelic Shadows was coming and any perks that being a member would bring. It brought a certain glint to his eyes. "Don't worry, we'll be here,"

He was half expecting Lomendil's unspoken voice to enter his head once more, but had no complaints when it didn't. And he'd certainly pack a lighter pack for tomorrow.

The next morning you all meet Marcus outside of Demon's run,which has yet to open. Marcus knocks on the door in a series of taps. The door opens a little revealing Serena Moonkbrook, she then opens the door wider enough to let you all in. Sitting a table by herself is one of the people you saw last night having dinner with the mayor. Marcus walks over to her and then looks back at you two speaking "May I present Lady Amelia Ridgeway."

I..am honored to meet you Maam. My name is Lomendil, your humble servant.

Lomendil blinked several times and paused as he reassessed everything he thought he had to offer. At this point, it was going to take him a moment to decide how best to begin the discussion.

"Norston, called Rust-Jaw by some," Norston says with a bow. His face, even freshly shaved the night before, is already showing an orange shadow of a beard. "I must admit this is a surprise. Consoul member and prominent figure in other business, if I'm not assuming too much?" He figured might as well get formalities out of the way and see how it went from there. It wasn't as if he was about to forget what he needed to say.

She smiles and dismisses Marcus with a nod, motioning you two to take a seat at the table "Indeed, you are right Norston. You may call me Amelia. Marcus has kept me up to date with what you have found, but I'd like to hear it from you and what you two think it points to."

Maam, it appears that an individual was sending notes to the local businesses demanding that they sell to him and if not they would be destroyed. When we tracked down who was sending these by finding his message boy, he was in the Kismet Cantina. I did not recognize him but it appears he has sent all of the messages and then he left the cantina. Shortly thereafter you came in and discussed the trade route with the elvish ambassador. I believe the person who was sending the messages was the other Merrakesh but would have to meet him to be sure. Regardless, I am fairly sure that he is trying to force his way into a monopoly in this town before the news makes business prices go up. Norston, can you please tell how you perceived it so she can note anything I missed?

Lomendil finished talking and turned to Norston deciding that it was of no use to pretend they did not know about the trade route. If he could meet the other Marrakesh, he was fairly sure he could confirm his suspicions.

"I can. This messenger, cut-ear half-elf by the name of Davorin fit the description given to us by Saria. Swiftyfoot worker. Turns out he was handing these out on the account of our unnamed stranger. Like Lomendil said we saw him chatting to this man just before he up and left. Said something about finishing delivering the rest of his messages. Oh, and we did recover a message that was lost by someone. Initialed... What were those letters? S. N. M.?" Norston says trying his best to fill in the gaps his current partner didn't fill in.

She smiles and says "Good work, as for S. N. M...that would be Slercin Nox Merakesh. Your hunch was right. She nods at Lomendil with respect before speaking again "As for why he's doing this, you may be right or it could be something else." She sits back thinking "You'll hear the news soon enough, part of my meetings with the Ambassador was in fact in opening up a new venue for the guild. So far the meeting have been going good. Back to local problems, There's going to be a ball in honor of the Ambassador's visit tonight, that would be the perfect time to sneak into either Slecerin's office or his home, to find out if he has left any clue behind his actions. Bring the evidence back to me once you have it. "

She stands up to go and turns to look at both and says with a smile " By the way congratulations on becoming full members in good stand with the guild. Marcus should have all the permits ready"

Lomendil bowed to her and then headed over to find Marcus.

I hear you have some paperwork for us to complete.

"Thank you Lady," Norston said. Even as he kept his voice calm he could feel his heart flutter with excitement. His legs felt a little lighter. "Before I go join my current partner in this venture may I ask one thing, who should we see about information about these locations?" He waited standing at the table for an answer.
