The statement is saying: If town is wrong, you'd rather keep a more active player in comparison to a less active player.

If you guys can't understand that, I don't know how I could possibly make it ANY easier to explain except by slowly going through every possible combination.

I'll get started now, and if I'm already lynched by the time I can post... oh well that's something that town will have to figure out on their own. That's not a threat, that's me saying I have one vote to go before I can say nothing more.

This is obviously not taking into account the mafia nightkill.

1 - I am mafia. You lynch me, you are down one mafia. Where do you go from here? You probably look at shock and squinty. At this point it's a terrible idea to go after rstnme even if you think we are putting on a show. You have no real clue who the other mafia could be. Especially seeing how nobody really stepped up to defend me.

2 - I am town. You lynch me, go 'oh crap' and instantly look at rstnme and probably cereal killer. You have two possible suspects but are down an active player. At this point you probably go after rstnme. If he's town, you sulk. If he's mafia, you found one, but lost an active player in the process.

3 - rstnme is mafia. You lynch rstnme and have removed a mafia player from the game. You see that I have some validity and start looking at cereal killer and elijin (yeah you're going way up on my suspect list). You have at least one lead and an active player. Some might be suspicious of me but even then you still have a lead.

4 - rstnme is town. You go 'oh crap' and turn on me. If I'm town, you're down between two to four townies (depending on night kills). If I'm mafia you get a mafia. and you inly lost a less active player as collateral.

As I said, one of these is better than the other. Look for what's the worst for town, then vote the opposite of that possibility.

You can also see that I hadn't ignored the fact that both of us or neither of us are mafia, that information was just superfluous words. I told you the truth regarding the best course of action even if I did use less words to do it.

If town lynches you and you are mafia, town isn't wrong or worse off. There's nothing more to that statement. But you are trying to assert that whether you are mafia or not, you're better alive for the town which is a completely illogical statement. The only situation in which you being alive is better for town is if you are town. If you are mafia, town is better off lynching you 100% of the time, no ands, ifs, or buts about it.

Given you've decided to go off on some wild illogical tangent instead of taking the opportunity to claim, I'll assume you have nothing to say on the matter.

You see that right there doesn't really help matters. You seem to be under the impression that you are innately more valuable to the town then any other player simply because you post more and that's just not true. A scant 11 post ago you yourself said that giving out information just makes the mafia's job easier. If that's the case then what does posting activity have to do with anything? If you follow that logic then posting lots is actively detrimental isn't it? So which is it - does posting lots of information, reads and thoughts hurt the town or does posting lots make you more valuable? Either way your standing on some pretty unstable ground.

OOC: Is nighttime a set duration no matter what, or is it a deadline for people to submit actions, and as soon as all actions are submitted the GM will end it? Just trying to work out if the game is about to go on a several day lull.

Usually the host will say nighttime is starting you have until this day. Or you have this much time from this post.

Given I technically haven't been lynched yet, I'm assuming Scarlet just hasn't been on yet. I would expect the above to happen.

An OOC question to toss out. If it doesn't get answered until next "day" because Scarlet calls for Night and we have to shut our yaps, that's OK.

Ooc: Well that's the simple version

I decide to take one day off, and that's the day you guys do a pre-deadline lynch. How typical.

Also, for further reference:
The day is over when I say it is over. Even if someone reaches the minimum lynch requirement, you can still continue playing as normal until I cut the day off. Same goes for the one that is lynched.
The lynching only happens when I post. There was no problem with continuing the conversation.

After some contemplating the first 'volunteer' for the ancient machine is found.
Altimis is forcefully placed in the opening, after which he should go through a series of tests that concludes with his role in the city.

And indeed, when the door closes you hear the machine do his thing and after a few minutes a paper rolls out Haazda Exonerator, vanilla town.
When the door opens, Altimis is gone and a small amount of fresh blood remains.

"Umm, guys? We sure we don't have alternatives to this thing?"
"Yeah, pretty sure."
"Well damn, better get those goblins out quick then."

As night falls, everyone starts going to their homes. After all...Apparitions stalk the night.
