Coalitioners, this would be a good time to call in your backups to cover the remaining strats, even a one line strat is better than going stratless.

Suitable examples:

- I issue the command "Turn tail and f-in' bail".
- I command my army to attack relentlessly to the very end.
- My units embrace sweet compleation. All of them.

Okay, maybe the third one isn't actually better than going stratless :shifty:

We hath Murica taking a nose to get the site following smoothly. Basically he uses an ad blocker too so didn't notice the troubles. With a spot of luck, but it is looking like we may need to fudge something a little instead.

One-liners? :wha:

The strat I wrote for my one battle this turn is over 7,000 characters long. And I was re-using parts of the strategy I wrote for that battle when I thought it was needed for last turn!

(One-liners art a good way to lose though! Thy strategy is a good one though, and we art pleased to see that thee know what thou art doing. Length is not a bother though, these things art as long as they need to be - unless hitting 20 pages, then could probably use a bit more conciseness

But where a on-liner is useful is that a stratless gives the maximum bonus to the opponent (+10), and reduces own losses. Which if there is a strategy is very rare. Tevish hast been the only one to get such a victory 'naturally,' which is why he got a monument on Dominaria, and parts of that are still in use!)

Just one more strategy to go, and a lot of the ol' movements. Still a bit of time to go yet, but how hast the time frame felt? Doth thee feel that shorter turns would be suitable, or remain with these longer ones for a bit longer to get a flow going?

Righty-o :). Now it is after the deadline and Luna seems to be the only one who remembered to send movement! Still getting into the swing of things again, so thee get a chance at least to send that on. At least until when we start putting up results. Remember though, movement and strategy deadlines art at the same time!

(We would like to add that, for strategies adding expected outcome at the end doth not help much when it feels exaggerated confident. Things very rarely go perfectly in even the best strategies, remember thy opponents can come up with innovative tactics just as well as thee! Then a dash of randomness too. While thee want confidence, thee doth not want us to read overconfidence into things)

Movement is difficult to assign when you don't even know the outcome of the battle. Doesn't it make much more sense to alternate movement and battle strategies?

What CKY said. I kinda assumed that was the way it worked to be honest. I didn't even know I was supposed to send movements as well as battle plans.

Considering this is basically an rpg that we're playing, I don't agree. You expect all the armies to just stop and wait while they watch a few skirmishes here and there? Where do you think we are, Erfworld? No, I say, no! This is the battle for Mirrodin, the battle for Phyrexia, the battle for Dominaria! This is the war to decide the fate of three worlds! The outcome of this war will see the multiverse free of the Phyrexian horrors, or see the Father of the Machines rise to glory!

Ahem.

Off the record, I find it quite entertaining that, with as many veterans as are playing right now, I, a complete newcomer, was the only one to send in movement orders.

... Is it weird of me to want to diagram my sentences when they get that compound?

Also off the record, I am quite displeased with myself that I forgot an aspect of my army which I could have used to my advantage until after I had finished the draft which I had sent -- I did not possess the strength of will to re-think the entire strategy with that in mind, and I had to devote time to schoolwork as well.

Ah, we see where the bother popped up, indeed Luna is right though (and we quite enjoy Erfworld too). Each turn takes one in game 'week,' with each square about 2 days of normal marching time across. Battles, if thee wish, can take that full time if thee want to (try) use it. So to hath battle/movement alternating that would mean armies art sitting around waiting for a week when they could be advancing and attacking. But more bothersome is that the game would take twice as long!

Imagine thyselves as the 'armchair general,' thee send the orders at the start of the week, and a full intelligence update at the end. Out in the field battles and moving art happening at the same time, much as thee doth not know the opponents' moves, thee doth not know their acts until after they hath done them.

While this is the system that hast been in place since we joined many many years ago, we art still open to fiddling, so enough support and a suitably valid argument for alternating structures is viable. But for now, thou hast until this weekend to get that movement to us, then we shall post everything up (or when it all arrives, which ever happens first).

And no worries Luna! That was a good strategy and fit for the purpose. Save thy tricks to get in surprises for the big battles! When facing a foe three times as big, pulling out something surprising can bring thee a swift victory.
(It is also not weird at all to diagram thy sentences, it is much more entertaining!)

...so is their an extension on movement or is everyone just sitting around this match twiddling their thumbs? What's the deadline?

Does anyone else have problems sending private messages? When I press submit the message is just left in the outbox without ever being sent.

I was able to send a few, weeks ago, but not the last ones I've written...

When they are in your outbox they have been sent - they just haven't been opened by the recipient yet. It's like that so you can go back and make edits and the like. Rest assured that if they are in your Outbox they are also in the inbox of whoever they are for.

...and yeah I didn't get the system at first myself.

What Garren said (should I call you Garren? Would you prefer Windspear, or perhaps your full name?). It's a rather useful tool once you know how it works. Unfortunately, it also tells you who is... kind of ignoring you, or is just really slow to respond.
