As the unattractive man bumps into it's master Sparkplug let's out a series of angry beeps. Flying in front of the man it lets out a loud metallic shriek as sparks arc across it's body. Straightening her coat Rebbeca turns and faces the man. "Well? What do you have to say for yourself? My companion finds your manner sorely lacking and I am inclined to agree with him. Is a simple apology beyond you capabilities?" Folding her arms across her chest she waits for the mans response.

"Watch who you're talking to, kid." The man shot Rebecca a glare. From behind him, a ball-shaped rock monster rolled from behind him.

"So the brute can indeed speak? I must say I am a little impressed; from your distinct lack of breeding I would have assumed even the basics of language to elude you. Though from your countenance I see any hopes of an apology are misplaced. Come along Sparkplug. We shall leave this... person to his own devices. Clearly he is unfit to be in our presence." Rebecca turns and begins to walk away from the man as Sparkplug gives a final angry screech before floating to her shoulder.

The man growls at her before walking off, his rock monster angrily rolling away after him. "She's lucky I'm already in trouble with the Commander, else she'd be in serious trouble."

"Yah... we saw him... He just went towards the gym"
Silas motions in the direction the strange man went.

"that's where we're going then. Come on, kids!" The Commander starts running away alongside Dragonite, motioning the kids to follow.

Silas quickly glances at M, before getting up. Well, I suppose we should follow him. Perhaps if we help he will take us to Solaceon Town. He also glances at Kuro briefly before heading off after the ranger

Meanwhile, the sky turns black and it start to rain.

Kuro quietly noted the rain starting to fall, then hurriedly followed after Silas and the ranger.

When they arrive at the Gym, they see Klaus outside it alongside a large, muscular fellow.
"Freeze! Klaus Grad, you're under arrest under terms of poaching and snagging!" Dragonite prepares to attack.
"Excuse me?" Klaus looks mildly frustrated before looking to the muscular man and pointing at Paptimus. "Do you hear that false accusation? How pathetic, right?" Klaus then spotted the kid from before... And a girl? He then decided to make conversation with her. "Can you believe that?"

(Seeing as everyone succeeded their perception checks) A large snake-like being flies over the city quite suddenly, releasing a loud shriek.

"Well, to me, it's your word against his word," replied Kuro.
"But if you haven't any clue what he's talking about, then I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding. You should sit down with him and clear it up."

As she said so, she unzipped to her shoulder bag, though she did not reach in.
Then, suddenly, a loud screech rained down on them from the sky, drawing her attention from the man named Klaus.

"What was that?"

Rebecca frowns slightly as the rain begins to fall and lets out a small sigh. "Perfect. It appears we are to be wet as well as cold. Truly this day couldn't get any..." Her words trail off as a loud roar rumbles from the clouds above and she spots the great serpent in the sky. A slight smile spreads across her face as she watches the creature. "Well now. It would appear our journey is not entirely in vain - i imagine that would certain qualify as a creature of legend." Her rapt attention is broken by a noise to her left. Sparkplug flits around looking for cover as the rain beats down against it, with any rain drop producing a small spark of electricity. "You are right my friend. First we must find shelter and contact Bertrand." Hugging the magnemite close Rebecca throws a loose end of scarf over the metal pokemon to shield it from the rain before heading down the road looking for shelter.

The serpent flies away and the rainfall gets harder.
"I do believe you're mistaken." Klaus pulled out an umbrella.
"You are in possession of a snag device and you look, sound, and act like the man who stole the Pokemon in Kanto. I believe I'm correct. Paptimus shrugged.

"Wait, didn't you guys just hear that?" said Kuro as she looked about incredulously at the others, who seemed almost oblivious to the unusual event that had just transpired overhead.

"Sure did." Klaus yawns. "What are you guys talking about!" The Commander seems utterly confused before redirecting his attention to Klaus. "Listen, Commander. I'll strike a deal with you."
This caught the Commander's attention. "Keep talking."
"I'll hand in my Snag Device and have the Pokemon I snagged returned to their owners, and I'll pay 10,000 to each person I've stolen from. Sound good?"
"I suppose that is a good deal. Hand the device over now and we can get this deal underway."
Klaus removes the Snag Device and hands it to the Commander. "Now, if you don't mind, I have a Gym to beat."

"I'll send a Ranger to the Gym to keep an eye on you, consider him your patrol officer. With that, the Commander walks away.
"So, you're here to challenge my gym, huh?" The muscular man finally spoke. "My name's Julio, and I'm the Gym Leader here in Canalave City. Follow me. If you wish to spectate, take the other door." Julio walks in the main door, with Klaus following suit. There is a large sign beside a second door that says "SPECTATOR'S DOOR".
