"Well that's foreboding." Agamemnon lets out a short laugh, more to break the silence then anything else. Taking a moment to look over the group he nods to himself and steps towards the narrow staircase. "Do not worry my friends. Though this edifice be clearly the work of vile minds I, Agamemnon, who knows not fear, shall lead the way! Follow me to glory!" With that the gith turns and begins descending down towards the field.

Descending the staircase 50 feet to the grassy floor bellow proves little challenge for such hardened heroes as these. Before long the party arrives to the centre of the field. From here the massive mound stands tall, 20 feet easily above the rest of the field. At its base where you now stand you can't see the massive boulders the form the smiling skull face you once gleamed from above, and if you did not know better you might think this just an ordinary hill. But it is not an ordinary hill. All around you a feeling of dread seems to permeate the air. The hair on your necks seems to stand on end. A persistent feeling like someone is walking over your grave seems to nag at you non-stop. There is something very eerie about this place. Is this the infamous Tomb of Horrors that you have travelled half-way across the continent to find? Or is it merely another creepy locale that will turn out to be a wild goose chase? Perhaps you could answer that question...

...if only you could find a way inside.

"So? Is this the place you were looking for? Somehow I thought there would be more to see." The words of First Mate Alan Cross seems to echo what everyone is thinking. All three of the sailors who have accompanied you, gruff as they may be, seem a little on edge.

"Not a very inspiring sight, but no one was waiting for inspiring or beautiful sights when accepted participating in this dangerous journey. I hope at least we are at the right place. My ancestor craves from his grave for his history to be known."

Thibor concentrates to see if he remembers this particular rock formation from one of his many scripts.

"Maybe there's a secret password....OPEN SESAME!"

Nothing happens.

"Well, I'm out of ideas."

"Given the amount of unexplained arcane or other types of magics on and surrounding this island I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of magic is involved in finding the way into this tomb. That's where the more impressive parts of this island lie, I imagine,"

With that Jiardem hoped to find just a single thread of a magic aura, as he always imagined magic as an mage's calligraphy.

Graydon scowls. "This strikes me as an extraordinarily inconvenient place for a tomb. I mean, who's buried here anyway? Not that it matters now that we're here I suppose..." He sets about skirting the landscape, looking for anything that might, in defiance of Nature, indicate a pathway or entrance to the tomb itself.

Nature Check Ohhhhh Yeaaaaah Who's a Huge Ass Boyscout Graydon Is uh Huh uh huh uh huh!!!!!

For a second Jiardem's eyes seem to flare with other colors and his eyes go wide as he sees the an intricate tapestry of magic auras he can't decipher. "This... is quite amazing. And somewhat terrifying. I'm not even sure the Mage's school that I attended has such auras,"

He let the scrying fade and focused on the hill ahead. The contours were not that which would form from natural means. "So it seems this hill was built. What secrets were you made for? What do you conceal beneath you?"

Graydon returns from climbing the hill and investigating the boulders. "I've never seen anything like it. The formations here... they look manmade, but there's no sign of the landscape being altered, nothing to say people have ever even been here before. I couldn't find an entrance. This is a maze's riddle--it's unnatural."

"Well, if we're positive there's something under this hill, and there's no way in...there is one thing we could try. But we left the shovels on the boat..."

"Not like the crew would prefer to do an excavtion. Somehow I think these stones might conceal something. Or perhaps on top of them. Let's check each of the stones," Jiardem says hoping there is some other way to get below.

"I came too far to be bested by a wall...But a hill? Oh yeah, that'll do us in."
Frustrated, Quinn starts strolling around the contour of the hill, hoping by some chance that the entrance is just on the other side.

Agamemnon stands apart from the group in utter silence while observing this new challenge in his quest. After a few minutes he lets out a sharp laugh and makes his way towards the hill. A broad smile creeps across his face as he begins to slowly pull himself up onto the top of the thing. Carefully observing the skull-face from his new vantage he makes his way over to the 'nose' of the thing and, after a few more moments of careful contemplation, draws his maul and brings the hammer down with all his strength on the black stone.

After recovering from his blank, Thibor looks again at the rock formation.

"I don't recognize this rock formation, but we should try moving the boulders. One at a time, but first we should try to knock at them. Maybe one of them is hollow. And this way we can save some needless effort."

He approaches the stone that makes the left eye and knock his hammer at it lightly while trying to listen for an answer.

"Hmm. Figured that would work. You are a worthy advisory rock but I, Agamemnon, Carver of the Earth, shall not be defeated by mere sedimentary! Have at thee!" Agamemnon continues flailing at the rock with his maul in the vain hope something different will happen this time.

Thibor sees the scene his friend is doing. He goes there and slaps his face with his rock hard hand. "For Moradin's sake, compose yourself man. Are you a holy instrument of your god or an hysteric wench?" He looks at him with disapproving eyes, before continuing. "Because you are looking just like an hysteric wench to me now. Remember our holy mission. We are not here to waste our strength on rocks, we are here to punish evil and carve our names on the immortal pages of history."

Then he leaves Agamemnon to mull over his words, but before leaving he lets a small smile escape his lips. "Ha! This scene will be written in my journal."

He goes to the right eye of the skull face to repeat his investigation.

Agamemnon stands, eyes closed, thinking deeply on Thibor's words. "You have a point master Cruxholder. I let my frustration get the better of me - my wrath should not be directed at this humble rock but at the fiends that built this place! Thank you again for showing me the error of my way!" Letting out a loud laugh the gith opens his eyes again looking for his companion that he may thank him properly for his advise - only for the dwarf to be no-where in sight. "Strange. He was here but a moment ago. Master Cruxholder! Can you hear me?! Master Cruxholder!" Waiting a few moments for a response he runs to the edge of the hillock and shouts down to the others. "Friends! I require your assistance! Master Cruxholder has disappeared! Did he return to you?"

Hearing your call, Alan calls back up, "He's not down here with us."

"Curious. I think I may have found him! He looks to have found a way inside! Get up here! Oh and bring rope - we will have need of it!" Running ahead of the others Agamemnon stops at the edge of the pit and gazes down into the darkness. "Hmm. 'Tis a deep hole indeed. Thibor! Are you alright down there! I'm coming in after you! Hold on!" Gathering a length of rope from his bag he loops it around the near-indestructible boulder he had previously engaged and begins his decent after the lost dwarf.
