I think that's assuming a little too much. The real self player could be dead or could have reason to not want to claim, and even if JD is/was the self player and started with a simple survivor win-con, he may have a different wincon or alignment now, and he may have other anti-town interests from mechanical interactions.

The odds of Aaarrrgh being the self-aligned player seem to be minimal to me.

I have no rebuttal for the win-con change possibility, but afaik only PK had that ability. Maybe the dungeon too. But JD wasn't in the dungeon.

Silly's wincon allegedly also randomly changed to survivor (while retaining his alignment) which is seemingly unrelated to PK or the dungeon

Neo (if i'm remembering right, whoever corrupts people) also potentially has the ability to change people's alignments i believe. There could be others.

I think JD is probably self, but there is a non-zero possibility that he is mafia or some other thing, and JD himself said "if you're not 100% sure Rubik is town you should be voting him right now."

JD won't control the lynch tomorrow, but if we lynch rubik today, then JD will be able to control the lynch on tomorrow's tomorrow, so by JD's logic it follows that we should chain lynch rubik and then JD, which is probably a bad idea.

i guess rubik controls the lynch tomorrow even if there isn't a NK, whereas JD only controls the lynch in two days if we have two lynches plus at least one NK
