While I can agree that a jester type role can be a let down to everyone who loses (especially if they manage to pull the whole over your eyes day 1), this WAS a bastard game, and honestly I was shocked that only one person even considered the possibility that you were being baited.

Also, as a game mod who likes designing games with complex roles, I often feel the need to remind people that you shouldn't rely on your role to win the game for you. The mentality "my role had no impact" is detrimental to your ability to win because it is almost absolving yourself of any responsibility of what happened. If the roles were reversed I'd be saying instead "congrats, you duped me and I walked right into your trap," instead of suggesting that your role was a waste because it didn't help you stop me.

I am generally against anything that can result in a day 1 win, but in a bastard game, "generally" goes out the window.

Let me re-phrase.

Its wildly disappointing to see a whole interesting game developed, and then rendered completely moot, because someone won on day 1.

Yeah. That I get.

Still, that's what you potentially sign up for in a Bastard game. Lol.

Though, if conditions exist for a Day 1 game end to happen, it's probably fair of the mod to warn the players so they take day 1 seriously, bastard or no.

Hobgoblin Lives has no day 1 game ending effects.

Yeah. I'm disappointed. Not with the setup - the fact that zinger was able to pull it off means he deserved it. Mostly, I really liked my role, and was really looking forward to using it.

From now on, until zinger proves his alignment, I'll plan on doing the opposite of what I think he wants us to do. He clearly wanted us to try and lynch him, but it really never cross d my mind that it would end the game, and it clearly should have.

Mod - sorry we didn't get to play this out, seems like you put a lot of effort into it.
