Hon Yin fails to escape the goengsi's death grip but manages to pick up the sticky joss paper tag.

It is now Sai Yun's turn.

Sai gets a hand to his belt and draws one of his kukris. He then writhes, trying to wrest himself from the creatures grasp, hoping to get back to the fallen tag

Sai Yun twists free of the goengsi's grip but as he slips away, the undead creature swipes at him. It misses but it hops after him. The goengsi lunges again and grabs the paladin tightly.

Sai Yun is now grappled (DC 11) and is at 3 HP.

It is now Chen Wu's turn.

"Much appreciated, Liu Xin." Chen Wu moves the beam of red light to the goengsi's forehead. "Hey pal, you lost this. Let me help you." He raises his left hand and tries to stick the magical tag back in the monster.

Despite the guidance provided by the red beam, Chen Wu is unable to land the tag on the creature as it continues to struggle with him.

The goengsi struggling with Hon Yin pulls the cleric's face close to its own and begins inhaling deeply, but its would-be victim twists his face away from the monstrous attack.

It is now Liu Xin's turn.

Liu Xin does his best to ignore the struggles occurring behind him as he starts to cut into the corpse grasping Hon Yin.

Liu Xin's sword plunges into the corpse's torso, shattering a rib, but the injury seems to mean nothing to the undead. He slips past the goengsi as he pulls his sword back out of it, but it pays him no mind as it focuses on Hon Yin. He then slips past the goengsi on the other side of the the cleric and runs over to grab the sticky yellow tag on the ground, dropping his dagger.

The goengsi grappling Chen Wu draws his face to its own and begins sucking. The rattling inhalation draws Chen Wu's own breath out and when it pulls away, he gasps for breath.

The goengsi that Liu Xin escaped hops after him and hits him hard with its stiff limbs. As he staggers, it clutches him to itself.

Chen Wu is now at 4 HP.
Chen Wu, make a DC 13 Constitution check to prevent maximum HP loss.
Liu Xin is now grappled (DC 11 to break free) and at 2 HP.

It is now Hon Yin's turn.

Having now gripped the paper tag Hon Yin thrusts his arm forward in an attempt to stick the tign back where it belongs - right in the face of the Goengsi attacking him.

Chen Wu breathes in deep after the goengsi's attack breaks and his lungs refill.

Wu Hon Yin slams the tag back on the goengsi's face and it sticks. The red characters on the tag flash and the goengsi immediately ceases all motion. He moves to the door but his armor makes his scramble over the stone tablets difficult.

Goengsi 5 is now stunned.
Hon Yin is no longer grappled.

It is now Sai Yun's turn.

Sai shouts, "Liu Xin, run!"

He then whispers, "May I buy you time... "

He then draws on the blessings of his patrons to heal himself.

If life will keep your attention, then feast!"

Twinkling lights steam from Sai Yun to his own body, like a star shower. He finds himself breathing easier, only for the goengsi to pull his face to its own as it tries to start sucking out his breath. But the paladin wrenches his own face away and the attack goes nowhere.

Sai Yun healed for 5 HP and is now at 8 HP.

It is now Chen Wu's turn.

Chen Wu slaps out with the tag in hand. His hand only glances against the goengsi's forehead but the tag sticks. The goengsi immediately ceases action.
Goengsi 2 is now stunned.
Chen Wu is no longer grappled.

It is now Liu Xin's turn.

Liu Xin begins to regret breaking the defensive perimeter he suggested.

"Tag, your it"

Liu Xin's attack misses the goengsi, who pulls the rogue close. Holding its own open mouth of the the rogue's, the goengsi draws out a pale wisp from the rogue's lips. Liu Xin feels the world fall away as his lungs collapse and he falls limp.

Liu Xin, make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw to prevent permanent maximum HP loss.
Liu Xin is now at 0 HP and is unconscious.

It is now Hon Yin's turn.

Hearing a thud somewhere behind him Hon Yin turns in time to see his comrade hit the floor. His eyes widen with shock before his features twist with anger. "No. Not here. Not today." Dropping the chest of coin to the ground he tightens his grip on his spear and rushes towards the creature assaulting Sai Yun. As he lunges forward his begins chanting, the runes upon the shaft of his spear glowing faintly, and as his spear connects with the dead flesh a radiance envelops Liu Xin and begins to staunch bleeding and seal wounds.

Hon Yin's spear misses its mark but his spell rings out like a declaration of the heavens. Liu Xin is pulled back to consciousness, though he remains in the vampire's hands.

Liu Xin makes his Constitution check.
Liu Xin is now at 6 HP.

It is now Sai Yun's turn.
