Sai's voice speaks urgency as he shouts, "They're moving! Time to leave!"

Sai Yun ducks and hops over the stone tablets to reach the hidden pass through the wall.

The rhythmic hop of the goengsi furthest away from the other adventurers announces its approach towards the paladin. Once it draws close, it reaches out without a sound and slams its arms against Sai Yun and as he staggers, it grips him tightly by the arms.

Sai Yun is now grappled and at 5 HP.
It is now Chen Wu's turn.

Chen Wu shouts, confused by the wind and the sudden darkness. "Damnit, Liu Xin, turn on the lights already!" Holding the magical tag in his left hand, he points the pistol to the closest goengsi. "Stay away, vile beast!" A magical scope appears above his gun. It emits a red point of light in the center of the creature's chest.

The light is a harsh glow in the dark room.

Near the statue, the sound of more hopping and then Hon Yin feels the slam of dead fists against his armor.

Wu Hon Yin is now grappled and at 5 HP.

It is now Liu Xin's turn.

Liu Xin quickly lifts the hood on his lantern and hangs it from the upstretched hand of the statue. A quick survey of the room shows that the corpses have lost their precious tags and are attacking.

"Form a defensive perimeter!"

Liu Xin runs to the corner and draws his sword, as well as the dagger in his cloak.

As the hood lifts off the lantern, the room refills with light. The hopping vampires' grisly features are illuminated, their moldy skin taut against their skulls. Hon Yin and Sai Yun get particularly good looks at the monsters grappling them. They seem to be pulling the faces of their victims closer to their own.

The vampire being aimed at by Chen Wu turns on him and grabs the arm pointing the pistol at it, gripping his arm tightly. The other last vampire stumbles over the stone tablets to come at Hon Yin but misses him.

The players are no longer blinded.
Chen Wu is now grappled and has 7 HP.
Chen Wu must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on true strike.

It is now Wu Hon Yin's turn.

Liu Xin yells as he circles the vampire

"Hon Yin! There is a tag to your right, on the statue of the Emperor!"

As the room is plunged into darkness Hon Yin's grip on both his spear and the chest instinctively tightens. It is only when the light returns he realizes just how much trouble he is in. Struggling to break the vice-like grip of the undead creature he calls out to the others. "We can't waste time! Cut the ones that matter and make for the tunnel!"

Though he struggles to break free of the creatures grasp Hon Yin's flailing does manage to acquire him one of the ritual - albeit stuck to his hand.
