Maulim sits in the coach and realizes that Merroda is 100% right. On the other hand, he is not sure that he wants to tell her so. Why don't you start at the beginning in explaining the situation. Do you have any idea of how or why we were brought to Forge and who might have been responsible?
As he asked these questions, he tried to see if he knew anything about what might be used to transport persons between worlds and whether they tended to be based on location.
Koli scrunches up his face, "Why and how you were brought here? Is this some sort of test to see if I know too much? That's your business, I believe, and while curious myself, would not deign to inquire. I only knew of you because my imperial contact told me to help your escape if needed. It is not my place to ask further questions."
Koli leans back in his seat beside Corinne, across from Merroda and Maulim. "Pardon my saying so, but you seem less...certain of yourselves than I expected. I'm guessing something unexpected happened to you, but I'm here to revise the shelter and assistance you need. I was told this arrangement oud ultimately prove to be beneficial to both you and I. I...I assumed you'd be tellin me your plans, not asking questions, but I'll do what I can."

"Empire you say? Interesting..."Merroda stretches out on the carriage seat, enjoying the relative comfort it provides. Then she burst out laughing. "So what we're you expecting out of this deal? Gold? Information? Hate to be the one to break this to you but we don't know anything - didn't know this was Forge and didn't even know there was an empire until you said it. You're basically just giving a bunch of vagrants a ride around in your carriage. Though I suppose one of these two could know more then me - though between you and me you probably don't want to be making deals with people who go on secret missions for there emperors and forget to wear a shirt." She loses herself in another fit of laughter.

Simply put sir, something must have gone wrong on the way here sir since many of my memories from before waking up are gone. Either that or else we were erased before coming here so we couldn't compromise anything. I am quite sure that we will be capable of making and implementing plans but right now our plans are as much of a Blank Slate as our memories until we can correct that for both.
Inwardly he sighed as he realized that they were now at the mercy of this individual and he knew they could not be of much use.
"Pardon me for saying so, but this is the most fecked up situation I've ever heard of...but I'm no stranger to misfortune. Here's my proposal to you: ride back to my manse in the first ward. Allow me to get you some tailored clothes ordered for the morrow, a dinner in your bellies, and a warm bed for the night. The next morning, you will break fast with me, and to repay my hospitality you will listen to my proposal...significantly modified, given your, ah, condition. Then you may choose to leave or accept my offer. For now though, I can answer your questions as best I can or respect your need for a silent night of rest...whatever you prefer.
I for one would be very grateful for a chance to lie down, not be shot at and get a good meal. I would be very interested in listening to your descriptions of the situation and/or textbooks on politics, history etc. if available. My first question is what is the current government and political situation here and what is the relationship of the empire to that.

Merroda mumbles something under her breath and chuckles to herself. Shifting her weight on the seat makes a show of yawning before closing her eyes and pretending to sleep.

That settled, the carriage moves steadily along the road for about five minutes. It slows down to a stop, before turning a slow turn and stopping again. The door opens and a dwarven footman appears wearing the same colors of the carriage itself. As the passengers disembark, with Koli gesturing for his guests first, they can see the carriage has stopped in another alleyway, an awning above them. In the wall before them is set a door with a bronze plaque beside it reading, in common and dwarven, "For deliveries, ring twice." A small chain dangles to the left, presumably for that purpose.
The group enters a large pantry, and passes into a kitchen. A dwarven woman polishing a copper pan pauses and nods towards Koli with an audible, "My lord." Koli returns the greeting with a smile only and passes through another door into some sort of trophy room where yet another dwarven servant awaits wearing a black overcoat. Koli has a word with him in his native tongue and the servant looks up and down at the strangers' garb with obvious distaste before nodding a confirmation and leaving through one of three other exits.
"Proper clothes will be brought to your rooms within a few hours. Would you like to retire on your own and have food brought up or would you prefer a sit-down together? Also, three guest rooms or do any of you prefer the other's company?

sorry for the hiatus...busy body and illnesses in the family
Thank you very much good sir. Once I am slightly more presentable, I would welcome the chance to discuss the situation with you. As far as accommodations are concerned, with no offence meant to either of you charming ladies, I for one would welcome a quiet sleep in a private room.

Merroda simply shrugs in response to Koli questions. "Talk now, talk later. Makes no difference to me. Though some food would be nice I think - when I last ate is another on the list of 'things I can't remember right now'." She takes a moment to quickly examine the room they are in, looking with some interest at the various trophies scattered around.

"What Captain Courtesy said. Private room."
