A loud bang in the night wakes everyone from their slumber. The citizens of this town all check to see what happened. It seems there was an explosion. THE COMPUTER has been destroyed. Finally free from its control, those who remain alive may live out the rest of their days in peace and harmony without worry of its imposing order and discipline.

But is that really better? Who knows...

Garren_Windspear, Shockwave07, felbatista, Hello World, Freddeh-scum, and seekeroftruth444 all win the game.

Stay tuned for my next Mafia game of epic proportions,

DANTE'S INFERNO MAFIA

It promises to be in some ways more confusing, and in some ways less confusing. A hellish good time.

You may want to explain several bits about this game first.
We're pretty much running a relatively new community here, also regarding mafia, and as far as I can tell this was almost in no way a normal mafia game.

It certainly wasn't.

Day 1: role information... I'm in the game.

Day 2: It is revealed I have an alignment, but not sure how it plays into things because it doesn't straight out say, town, mafia, or neutral.

But the appeal of this game was all about the fact that nothing was known! That was the point. :(

Fine, I`ll explain some of it:

Basically, everyone was Town with the same wincon:
Survive to the end of the game.

The Computer, in an attempt to confuse everyone into fighting each other, made it appear as though everyone had their own unique alignments.

Abilities were based on security levels. When you reached a security level high enough to have an ability, I rolled on the ability tables and gave you that ability. There were three kinds of abilities: Active, Passive, and Secret, and everyone could have one of each (once they reached clearance level 3 or higher).

The game ended so suddenly because True_Believer died and he had the secret ability that said "If this player dies on an even numbered Day and the Computer tries to assimilate him/her, the Computer explodes and the remaining living players win."

I wish I could link to PK's 5 things not to do in a mafia game as host.
But Px2 is gone, so yeah.

Because I'm pretty sure this broke 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 AND 6.

I was actually thinking of doing a game like this, where everyone was town and the game ended when there was a no lynch, or there was one player remaining.

In the setup thread I said that this game was hardly even a mafia game at all. The warning was there. If someone signed up expecting a standard mafia game, then they didn't read the sign up thread.

Wow, I had totally forgotten about this game until someone mentioned it in the Chocolate mafia endgame chat.

I was actually totally on board with this game concept. I even tried to role play all my chat by interacting with the computer and others. But it seemed like no one else was into it.

Shame. Nice try though Zinger!

Thanks.

The risk when trying a weird experiment that is far feom the norm is always that it flops. This game could have been run smoother, but alas that was part of the game.

I wish I was part of this game, but I didn't really notice it until it was day two :(
It was definitely a fun concept to watch unfold.

How did you not notice? Sign ups began March 15th, and Day 2 didn't even start until April 15th. There was a full month there, how do you not see two threads within a month?

Weren't you the one who pointed me to one of the mafia games once?
I don't really check the sign-up thread. Or at least I didn't back then. I've been more diligent about it these days.

I'm beginning to simply peruse more because I have more time. I was in the middle of buying a house, moving, paintinig, planning vacation etc.

I think I PMed you about the first Resistance game, you were annoyed you missed the sign ups, so I mentioned another Mafia game that was starting up.
