Post subject: | [PF] Pathfinder Sandbox - Join Anytime |
So, I had been working on building a homebrew city to toy around with, and though it's not done and has no storyline set up as of yet, would people have any interest in playing in it? I'm most familiar with Pathfinder, so that's the system I'd run it in. I could probably support a 4 - 7 player campaign, anyone think they'd wanna have a go at it? I am new to DM-ing, but I'd like to give this a try, and forums give me the most time to formulate responses so hopefully I'd respond appropriately to everyone. Character Creation Rules: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Books: Anything Here except for the Gunslinger Class and Advanced Races Level: 1 Hit Dice: Full, no rolling Traits: You may choose up to 2 Bonus: 1 extra feat at level 1 as a DM gift Starting Gold: Regardless of class, each player starts with 100 gp for equipment, but no matter how much or little you spend, you keep no more than 1 gp after Currency: No silver pieces, it goes from copper to gold, but they hold the same value (silver is too expensive) Stats: Choose one - 25 point buy; or, roll 4d6 (reroll ones) and take best 3; or, Iron Fist* Restrictions: No Eschew Materials feat unless Sorcerer Backstory: Go for it, I have no world built, so have fun with this. Alignment Options: Lawful Good, Neutral Good, Chaotic Good, Lawful Neutral The city you will be beginning in is named Ixen'Taoul (also known as The City of Opportunity, as well as The Grand Crossroads), and it's a trade city. The city is 21 miles East to West, 28 miles North to South, making the overall area inside of it 294 square miles. There is a Fire Mage Tower in the dead center of the city known as Ixen'Donoap. The Qanesc River runs through the city, and though it was once a single mighty river, it has been channeled and run through the various districts of the city. The government system in this town is a group of Nobles who control all of the trade done in the city, though each family deals with different products, they work together to make decisions for the city. The population stands just over 2 million people. The walls are 650 ft high, being over a tenth of a mile tall also stand about 300 feet wide, and are solid all of the way through. The walls also extend about 220 feet into the ground to help against sappers. Two miles in all directions along the inner city walls there are various farms set up. This land includes their houses as well as their fields, tending to nearly any and everything. One of the main features of Ixen'Taoul is: Merchant's Row: This is the main road that runs just south of the central mage tower. It is a perfectly straight shot that runs perfectly East to West. The road is about 785 feet wide, and the middle is kept clear of stationary items to allow for merchants and caravans to travel through. On either side of the road there are massive amounts of carts and some more permanent fixtures set up in an exceedingly long strip mall. Shopping can be found from one gate to the other, though there are certain miles where there are nearly no shops at all. Still, it is free and open to browse, and most families manage to go visit it at least once a week. *Iron Fist - Roll 3d6, no rerolls and they go directly into the stats in order rolled (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA). You will gain an extra bonus from the DM for choosing this option, but its also the one most likely to screw you over. Bonus given after character creation. ~SE++ |

Being a compulsive forumite, I'd happily play another PBP. I love Pathfinder, and there are some things I've been wanting to try in it. |

Bounty Hunter wrote: Pathfinders my favorite system , but my plates a little full. Maybe I can wrap up a few things. Well, it wouldn't start for a little while. As a way of getting you used to the world, you'd be in a single small city. On the other hand, "small" in my world means the city is about 21 miles East to West and 28 miles North to South resulting in about 294 square miles to cover. I'm still fleshing out the city. I'll probably be done in about a week or so. ~SE++ |

My pathfinder game on GitP just fizzled out, and I have a feeling that one of my 4E games may do the same. So if you end up putting together a PF game I'd have more room in my schedule now. (Until April) |

Hmm, I'm still trying to work it all out, but maybe. Also, what is GitP? ~SE++ |

Huh, kinda forgot I threw this out there a while ago... so far three people have made some interest known. To be honest, I have no world built since I've been busy with several other projects in my life outside the internet. Would people want to start with a blank world and help me fill it in as we begin playing around in it just for fun? ~SE++ |

So, yeah, if you can't tell, I want to run a fairly unforgiving world. You guys get a bonus feat, max hit points, 2 traits and the "high fantasy" point buy. Roleplay trumps rolling for me, so if you can figure a way out of a situation that is plausible, try it out. I'll let you know if you need to roll most of time time (well, except during combat where you have to roll), but if you roll before I ask, I have to go with the roll. So, if you're gonna throw a roll out there, make sure you believe you need to do it, otherwise, I'll let ya know when you need to. Lawful Stupid, Neutral Stupid or Chaotic Stupid won't last long in my world, so be careful. Also, please choose one of the following alignments: Lawful Good Neutral Good Chaotic Good Lawful Neutral No, you can't choose to be evil. And keep in mind, the world is really undefined right now, so your actions will determine how the world will shape. So if the world gets tougher because adventurers make bad decisions, then that will be on you guys. ~SE++ |

Man, I always forget the rules with Monk, but unless I miss something: Your HP is 10 (1d8+2) Your skills can only have 1 rank max per skill ~SE++ |

Half Elf favored class Monk gives me 1 HP or Skill Point per level. I was thinking 3.5 skill points, but I still get a +3 bonus for having ranks in those class skills. I wish the character sheet denoted that better. I added it as a Misc bonus. |

Will build character tommorow after work. Want to try something outside the norm, but could you give me a three line description of the world? (I know its sandbox, but I want a good starting point cause it helps me achor a class to a backstory.) Inquisitor? Witch? Hmmmm |
