Welcome to the Mafia Hosting Queue.

Over the last few months, more people have expressed interest in hosting a mafia game and to let things go smoothly, we will create a queue where you can see when you are allowed to start a sign-up thread.

However, before you start to say 'I want to host!' there are a few ground rules

• You have game flavor already thought out (a classic game is fine too, but do say so if you do)
• You have the role distribution thought out (#mafiates, #players, which roles to use and in which quantity, etc.).
• If it is your first game:
  It is very highly recommended to have an experienced host look over the design file.

Do not forget that there's a hosting and designing pointer in the PbP-guide (Near the bottom. Post 13)

Sign-up threads may be made immediately after a game has started. However, do not expect fast signups at this point in time and be patient.

Only use this thread to either get your name put on the list, or to withdraw your game from the list. We would like to have this topic as clean as possible.

You'll notice that spot 1 and 3 are taken.
I'd prefer spot 2 to be for someone who has not yet hosted a game here.

I'd like to host a more basic one, but not in slot two. Throw me in for slot 4, but I'd be willing to slip to slot 5 (or later) if needed.

I would like to be in slot 4 or 5 if that is acceptable.

Also, I would like to be on that list of experienced hosts that can review material, and think I am experienced enough to be so.

so, unlike in Px2, we should not put our name on the list until we have the whole thing basically worked out, right?

that's a totally reasonable system, I just want to make sure that's the one we're using. because I have a vague idea for a thing I'd like to run that I have done roughly 0 actual legwork on as of now, so I don't know whether I should put myself on the list or not.



PS: if that's ok, then put me down for Intervals Mafia. I'd be willing to take slot 2: at the rate games seem to be starting around here that should give me plenty of time. or put me somewhere else, if someone with a more finished design wants 2.

PPS: so I just threw together a rough draft. I certainly haven't thought everything through yet but I now have a solid idea for flavor and a basic outline of probable role distributions, pending some more thought and experimentation and probably running it past Scarlet or someone.

Do small games of Dethy 5 player need to go in the queue as well?

I'll put you on both lists. Remember that as reviewer your job is mainly to check if the sides are balanced, and answer questions about role interactions if those are asked.

Razor:
Correct, the game needs to be almost done.

Squinty:
Dethy games of 5 players have been running fine alongside the bigger games. Those can be started at any time.

I think I no longer have the latest version of my game saved anywhere(but maybe JD has it?),I blame the wizards forum for this.
I should be able to fix it again before the end of the next week.

Even if it is a close setup I'm stealing the name Pick your role from mafia wiki for it.

Things are looking better around here all the time. Hooray for more organization and activity.

Should we consider expanding this to add in pending Resistance games as well. Two have been run so far, one is pending, and so far we've been pacing ourselves with it and not having any overlap. But, that may not last forever either.

Intervals Mafia is basically set in draft form, but I'd really like to have an experienced host take a look at it because there's some things I'm not sure of.

I'd like to point out to everybody that likes Mafia, playwolf.net is a place you can play Mafia online real time.

I see I wasn't added to the cue. I suspect that is either because I didn't explicitly state what game I want to run, or because I am currently running one. In case it is the former reason, I intend to run this game, or some approximation thereof, after INFERNO is complete, whenever my name comes up in the cue again.

I have the plans mostly in place. I obviously don't know what flavour each role will take because that depends on the cards picked.

I should start my sign up thread.

I've got it! Vigilante Fool, once you trigger your night kill you must die before the end of the game to win! My target is altimis and then I'll be happy to be out of the game!

Intervals Mafia has been reviewed and approved by Zinger. if anyone else would like to take a look and offer thoughts that's cool but I think it's ready to go whenever it comes up.

Yeah, I shouldn't have relied on everyone checking what the rules of the variant from which I stolen the name were.

Basically I send you two roles at the start of the game and you choose one of them, sorry for making it sound more epic.

All other twelve players get to choose between vanilla townie/goon and town/mafia that dies if voted once.

Roles were created by me with the help of numbers, I'm not randomizing the list that there is at the pick your role mafiawiki page.

I'll post more about this tomorrow.
