Once, a while back, I ran a Magic: the Gathering mafia game in which the players chose a card from all of MTG, and I custom built them a role on the spot based on that card. That game was much maligned because of a weird quirk in which, after everyone got to pick their favourite card to have their role be based on, all the roles got swapped Day 1 because one player (KoD if I recall It was Razor) had picked Scrambleverse as their card, and I stupidly fashioned his role to do pretty much what Scrambleverse does. Terrible things.

This game will be like that game, without stupid Scrambleverse shenanigans.

When you sign up for this game, you pick a decklist for any deck which could be built in Arena (the free online computer version of Magic: the Gathering). You can pick from any of the three available constructed formats in that game (Standard, Historic, or Brawl). Where do you find a decklist? https://www.mtggoldfish.com/ is a good place to look. Heck, you can even build your own decklist and give me that if you don't want to use a list made by someone else, it just has to be an Arena legal deck. Put the decklist in the sign-up thread; your chosen decklist is public information (but your custom role is not).

Town and Mafia players will be given custom roles based on the decklists they provide me. Alignments will be chosen at random.

One lucky (or unlucky) player will have their submitted decklist ignored, and they will instead be given a unique third-party role and alignment.

Anything in standard is arena legal, so you can just look there. I will probably submit one of my personal Brawl decks, just haven't decided which one.

This should have every card, I imagine. Alternatively, you can filter by historic legality, but the format has some banned cards.

It was razor. I ended up with it after the shuffle and immediately won because my win con was to have spent all my abilities or some such thing. My OG role was skyshroud elf and I had a heavy handful of abilities that I would have had to go through otherwise.

The third party role will be selected at random.

But yes, I do plan to play each deck in arena to see how it plays and help me craft your role.

It's technically legal. I can't promise you'll do very well with it, but it's technically legal.

If you don't submit a decklist, you haven't signed up according to the rules.

I played three matches with your deck. I didn't have 4 copies of Kefnet, so I -2 Kefnet and +2 Talrand, Sky Summoner, which complimented everything else your deck did amazingly so I hope that's okay. I won 2 out of 3 matches with your deck.

Karn without a sideboard is an interesting choice... But he still proved useful anyway in shutting down opponents artifacts.
