Welcome to the Hosting Index for Mafia Games!

Formerly you'd have known this as the Queue but since one is not really necessary anymore this has been modified into a simple hosting index. Here you will find links to past completed games and a list of games currently under development and (hopefully) their updated progress level so that we can know what is ready to be run or almost there. We also invite you to use this thread as a place to workshop ideas and seek advice on games you have in development.

So if you'd Like to host a game you're welcome to sign it up for the development list at any point, all that we ask is that you indicate it's readiness level (your best estimation is fine) and periodically update that number as you progress in your development!

Since my current game is now officially in "Sign Ups" (and thus, no longer Queued), I would like to add a new game that I intend to host onto the list. It will be a new complex Spider-Man themed game that may or may not contain bastard elements. It will act as somewhat of a sequel to my Maximum Carnage game. Title TBD.

Question: If I wanted to try to challenge another forum to a vanilla game of Mafia, and keep the sign-ups limited to their more core members, would I need to join the queue since I wouldn't really be detracting from the available players for the usual Mafia games?

Depends. As stated above, if you wanted to run a Dethy game you can bypass the Queue.

Ask Numbers or Scarlet. It would depend I think how big your game was going to be, but I don't think there would be a problem with it, especially if it generate interest in mafia for a group of players that currently don't play it.

I assume you mean another sub-forum here Squinty? On the mothership we didn't queue those games, it was just up to the host to coordinate with the leads of the sub-forum they wanted to run their game in (since we ran the game in their area for their ease and comfort), they usually drafted a handful (2-4 depending on the size of the game) of players from our main group to act as experienced leads to follow in the game (extra points given to mafia players already in that community) and tried to fill the rest of the game from just a new player base.

If that's what you had in mind, I'd coordinate with Scar, whatever GobO is in the area you want to host in (so they don't mod it back this way), and whatever poster leaders kinda psuedo run the area if applicable.

Well, I went ahead with the idea a little while ago, and the thread is here. The intent will be to host the game in the Structured Play by Post section, but I wanted to try and get a new group of players interested. That and the M:EM guys are really cool people, and I thought with their creative minds it would be a blast to see them do something like a bluffing game.

I'm just posting in advance my intentions to host a Dethy game soon (since those bypass the queue). I will put up sign ups sometime after Popular Pariah's game has started.

I will temporarily be available to help review mafia games if anyone would like (you would still need official review approval or w/e, but I can go over it with you as well). Email pkdoesmasseffect at gmail dot com and I'll get back to you probably within a few days or so.

We've had enough weird games in a row already. We need some stuff that reminds people how mafia normally is played.

Throw me on the list. It's gonna be a real basic one, no bastard, just a cop/doc for the town, and a role blocker for the mafia. See if we can ease a few new players in.

Sure. I'll keep my eye on this two-ish months from now, to see what is that may.

So.... with a lack of players for PP's game, does this kill the queue? Do we try and launch a new game? It's been almost three weeks since that thread started and still not enough players.

According to PopPa's initial post in his set up his game can run on "any number of players". If he wants to run a game that small he is welcome to. If he wants to let somebody else see how they fair in sign ups, he can holster his game back on top of the queue like Razor did with intervals and see if he can draw more interest later. If he does nothing, in a few days time we will just go with the latter option ourselves.
