Well, I know that I enjoyed the game the last time...so, I figured I'd offer to run the next installment.

I'm going to aim to keep the game under a week.

Rules:
You can only accuse once.
Player who will ask the first question will be random. They will direct the question at another specific player, who can answer however they would like.
You cannot direct your question to the player who asked you a question.
When there is an accusation, the timer will stop for 24 hours. At that time, you may accept or reject the accusation, unless you are the player being accused.
No other discussion can happen during the accusation phase.
If you do not post within the 24 hour window, it will be assumed you are accepting the accusation.
Only 1 denial is needed to end the accusation, and restart the game clock.
The spy can PM me with their location guess at anytime, as long as there is not an ongoing accusation.
If the spy is correct, the spy will win the game.
If the spy is incorrect, the rest of the group will win.
If time runs out, and the spy has not made a guess, any players with remaining accusations will have the ability to accuse, but there will be no more Q&A

When I was running it, I was wondering if it would be easier to translate each minute to a number of questions instead. So, say, rather than having it open for 7 days or w/e, you rather just put a 20 question limit or something on it. (Which assumed 2.5 questions a minute.)

That could work...although, with how quickly the accusations were flying around...I dont think we even got close to 20

Let me think about that...the only downside is, if the spy was forced to ask the first question, they would have no idea where to start...which could help town

Only question I have is concerning the accusations.

Are we going to allow full blown discussions during an accusation (concerning the accusation itself)? Like what happened near the end of the last game?

No - once an accusation is made, there will be no more discussion allowed. The one making the accusation can make a followup post (if needed) detailing their reasoning, however, no other posts will be allowed, aside from accepting or rejecting the accusation.
Once the accusation is complete (either accepted, of after the first rejection) there can be posts made discussing it.

It's not a huge effort - compared to the average (non-zinger) mafia game, it's almost nothing.

We're at 5 right now, I think I'll cap it at 7.
If we don't hit 7 by Friday morning, I'll likely just start it with however many people we have, unless people would rather wait until Monday to get started.

I checked the rules, and it seems like 8 is the better cap. So, 2 slots left.

It supports up to 8 component wise. BGG says it's best with 6, but has it recommended for all but 3 players. It's very possible you could go higher, but I don't know at what player counts you have to seriously entertain adding another spy or something (or just stop altogether).

BUT, if Im the only one with a timezone significantly staggered from the rest, then Im unsure whether its fair to put my hand up.

I live in Norway, dw bud. Me and Rubik has like a 3h window of interaction or something along those lines.
