Spyfall is a party game about deception and deduction for 3 to 8 players, but could theoretically support larger player counts with more components. It's one of the more entertaining filler games I've tried out recently, and I want to see how well it translates to pbp. Each game in Spyfall takes place in a randomly determined location, known to everyone but the designated spy. The objective for the spy is to deduce the determined location and not being found, while the objective of everyone else is to determine who the spy is, and clear themselves of suspicion without giving away the location to the spy. Starting with a randomly determined start player, they ask one other player a question, which may be responded to in any fashion. The game continues in this fashion, with the previously questioned player posing a question to a player other than the one before him, until time runs out. After time runs out, each player, beginning with the start player, take turns accusing a person of being the spy. This process ends if no non-spy player votes against the accusation within 24h, or if all the proposals are rejected. If there is a successful accusation against a spy, the other team wins. If they accuse the wrong person, or if all proposals are rejected, the spy wins. During the game (the questioning phase), each player may once call for an accusation against a spy, which goes through unless a player votes against it within 24h of the accusation being made, in which case play immediately continues as normal. Otherwise, the game ends with the spy winning or losing, depending on which player was accused. You can PM me the guess to make it immediately after an attempted accusation fails to go through (to prevent being locked out by multiple consecutive accusations) Before the game ends, and as long as an accusation is not in progress, the spy may reveal themselves and attempt to guess which location was chosen, in which case they immediately win or lose according to whether they guessed correctly or not. The rules of the game, and the list of locations, can be found here. The only changes I have made are for unanimous votes to assume that silent people are in favor, and give it a time limit, for pbp convenience. The game is intended to take 8 minutes normally, which I'm not certain what to translate into. I'm thinking between 7 and 10 days. Anyway, taking signups and questions I guess? |

Let me make a clarification. An accusation is vetoed if any player other than the one being accused is against it. For obvious reasons, I think. |

Well, I guess this isn't happening. |

I think I understand how this is going to work. Can you give us an example location? Like, should I expect something like McDonald's or deserted island for example? |

"Oh you know, the usual stuff -- potatoes." Yeah, because Columbus brought that to you three hundred years earlier than expected. Geez. This should be fun. Where's the usual people for this? I can see plenty of shenanigans happening. Edit: I need to remember I can edit my posts when not playing mafia. Anyway, I'd suggest 5 days for the length. 7-10 will become a tad too long, and for such an easy going game I can't see why 5 days (or even less) would be enough to log on, read posts quickly, then ask a question to someone that didn't ask you. |

The most suspicious person is the dealer. Good rule. |

I'd be potentially interested in any game where I can accuse KoD of being a spy. |

I hope I'm not the spy. It'd be a short game if you nailed me right at the start. |

So, we're 5 right now. I guess I'll keep it open for a couple more days, and tell Niklor to join meanwhile. Anyway, I'm just worried that asking questions to people in different time zones will eat up a lot of time, which is why I'm edging towards a longer period. |

To make it a bit easier, and make sure everyone is on the same page, I've put the list of locations that I was able to make out (from the PDF) here. Plus, if this goes well, and we want to play more, we can use this as a starting list, and add others, as needed. If anyone can make out any others from the list, let me know, and I can add them.
