Born of a city scavenging Orc father and beggar Human mother, Harruc-Olk was not born of the most well to do upbringings. Between barely being able to keep down sewer rat stew (a treat in his family) and early childhood diseases he did not develope into the most hearty or nimble of half-orcs.
He sought the first chance he could to get off of the streets, his oppertunity coming with a group of traveling alchemists who donated their time to providing healing for the less fortunate. After some persuasion he apprenticed under them for several year learning not only the arts of healing, but also dabbling in body altering mutagents in an attempt to better his body.
While contact with his family has been scarce at best since his apprenticeship he still has it in mind to attempt to improve their lives as well, but when money just doesn't want to spend time in Harruc-Olk's coin pouch those kind of goals are just that much harder.
Kalevi Carter is the son of Ransu and Lynne Carter, coming from a long and moderately distinguished family nine, but not one that has historically or in the current generation been attended by good fortune. At some point in the past, of course, they must have had some luck, for the old money that long kept them solvent through lean times was great in its initial sum, though it was gained so long ago that no one rightly knows how.
Kalevi, rather specifically, is the youngest child of his family, having three older sisters who now largely attend to the failing family lands and dilapidated home with the passing of their mother and the growing senility of their father. Despite being the only boy, Kalevi was very much his mother's son, and in several ways followed after her, including being prone to vivid, lucid dreams that feel as though the dreamer is in some other world -- though some Carter ancestors were also known to have some similar sort of strangeness, Ransu was not one of them. Eventually, these nocturnal voyages lead Kalevi to discover a talent for magic.
Kalevi, though by no means a great mage, is now obliged to make his way in the world with his talents, the state of the family being such that remaining to tend the ivy-covered walls and mist-shrouded grounds of his home is not a desirable option. He does have an acceptable way with spells, and a way with words, some knowledge of the world.
Dreams have guided him onward, farther than he might have expected from familiar climes, but at least until now they have not steered him wrong. Kalevi has prepared for travel and endured hostilities, but found himself ready for both.
Elkic grew up with a small elven family. He excelled in school, loving to learn, and found out that he was very skilled with a bow. In melee combat, he found his weakness, but has spent alot of time training with his dagger to try and overcome it. He left his family on good terms when he was 22, and headed out to see the world. He traveled from city to city, always on his own, trying to learn the local customs, and make enough money to live. When he failed to make enough, he was happy to live off the land. However, after a number of years, it became boring, as he yearned for company. He found himself at Aurixvan Svantgrasp and took a job as a private guard for a merchant. After a year, the merchant grew sick, and died. The store was then taken over by the merchant's son, who had no need for an elven guard, and Elkic was once again, on his own.
Lyra was born to a guard family. She is the youngest of 7 children and the only girl. Her mother named her Lyra for the constellation Lyre (harp). She had prayed to the gods for a beautiful delicate daughter, however she was blessed with another brutish fighter. She was a guard until age 20 when her wandering nature got the better of her. She left with her father’s greataxe, a gift for his youngest child, to become an adventurer but still has a soft spot in her heart for home and family.

Okay, that post took two hours or so to write up. The game has begun in the Structured Play-by-Post area, and you'll be sharing the same OC thread with the existing Sandbox game I have running. Please give your introduction post a read-through, because you're already being asked for a mission. BUT, this is a true Sandbox, you're free to choose whatever you want. I'll roll with it as best as I am able.
