I think I'd wanna see it as open as possible, it just seemed like there could be massive conflict if you were to go to sleep in an Inn in one part of town, wake up and head to another and it's a time when you would have been asleep. I don't know how players rectify those kinds of things in a freeform spanning multiple threads.

Either as a group players take the effort to not cause such a temporal conundrum...or as a group you choose to ignore it for the sake of continuing the game.

Huh, and here I was thinking of a thread that was stickied titled "Town Square Clock" or something where passage of time would be noted for players so everyone was on the same page.

yeah, I'm not sure explicit temporal continuity is that necessary. just like you don't need a rule system to determine who wins if two players fight, I think players can be trusted to be reasonably careful about time. having a really strict system in only one area feels weird anyway, especially one as generally malleable in RPs as time.

Having a big clock that forces everyone to adhere to a steadily moving time schedule sounds like a good idea in a vaccuum but in reality it shoots creativity in the foot. Big time.

People's schedules change, some days people have a lot of time to post and others they dont. Some users are super active and others arent. Trying to force a timeline like that hurts both groups. The slower posters lose out as things advance beyond them and the fast posters feel like they're leashed to the time schedule.

Fair enough, just throwing ideas out.

Not to mention us Euros having to play the role of nightwalkers all the time :V

I wouldn't mind that too much.
Just play as some nocturnal furries.

Alternatively, make everyone a werebeast and let euros control them during the night :q

Well, to be fair the idea of the clock would be to advance it by an hour every 12 or 24 IRL hours or something like that where there would be time to do things daily no matter where you are. Not to just have it be attached to a single person's clock.

That still loops back around to the argument that a set time pace like that is very unlikely to sync up with most users and in fact more likely to not sync up with anyone at all. For some, that pace with be glacieral, even slower than normal pbp, for others who arent on every day things will be advancing without them.

also if everyone's characters sleep around the same time that's 4 days without activity.

The best way I've seen it ran if there are multiple thread or multiple goings-on in one thread is just a bit of suspending disbelief and people being mature enough not to intentionally abuse the lax rules.

A free form game whatesoever?

Or a multithread game where people can make their own locations?

Well, as discussed across a wide variety of threads at this point, I'm putting work into building a setting.

But it will be a few months yet until I have the time or resources to run a game there. But theres nothing wrong with interest checking freeform in say, Crystalshore, and seeing if we have the crowd for it in the meantime.

Anyone still interested in a freeform game? I admit, I'm still thinking about one since I really have no urge to learn 5E.

I might be down for a freeform thingy, though my schedule is a bit weird, I work four tens, so I'm usually only around from like 4 to 8 Monday through Thursday, but a lot more open on weekends, so hopefully that'll balance out :/.

Also personally I wouldn't mind a WoD game, I'd most likely wanna try Geist or make another Vampire.

Maid RPG is always a good time, and wouldn't mind getting to actually play Don't Rest Your Head at some point.

Gamma World (the 4e one) is my jam though, really wanna play a game of that some time. I mean, the rules actually suggest flavoring your character as a swarm of kittens if you get the Felinoid and Rat Swarm origins :P.
