I am a big fan of the 40k rpg line. My favorites are Deathwatch and Only War.

Anyone here have experience with them? I am thinking about running an Only War game if there is some interest.

I have never once played a miniatures game. Not because the idea doesn't appeal to me, but because I never knew anyone else who played and the concept of needing to collect yet another item seemed... crazy.

I have no experience with any, but I've heard good things about Rogue Trader on /tg/
I think that's 40k at least.

I play Black Crusade, and while Only War interests me, my group only really has the ability to keep two campaigns going at a time (that, and one of them is entirely averse to any form of rules or structure. Build optimization? Nope, has to try something "unique" and then complain when the character is demonstrated to be ineffective and entirely superfluous. Other than that, he's a fairly entertaining guy. Still, IG organization is right out.) Great core system though, especially the later two (BC and OW), which are almost fully classless.

I've played a few short games of Dark Heresy; I enjoyed it. I haven't been able to make much use of the book, though, as there isn't much of a gaming community about.

I have never played any of the games but I've spent a considerable amount of time reading articles on Lexicanum and the like. I'd love to be a part of a Dark Heresy or Rogue Trader playgroup but I don't see that happening any time soon.

I tried to get into it but was scared away by the time commitment of putting everything together plus painting it.

Warhammer (both fantasy and 40k) are pretty dead around here, many people abandoned it on favour of Warmachine

Never cared for Warmachine. I don't like the models, and I don't like the background.
