For the past 8 months, I've been working on GM tools that take the form of decks of playing cards.

The first tool was a deck of Characters, which I Kickstarted in May this year. The backers have been very happy with the results, here are a few sample cards.





For these, Diamonds represents physical appearance, Clubs is social connections, Spades is work and Hearts are Desires

The second tool is currently launching on Kickstarter, and is a deck of locations. Here's a sample card (not yet revealed anywhere else):

What are the numbers next to the suits for?

Two things: Firstly they indicate how "good" or "strong" that aspect of the location/character is; and secondly they can be used for all sorts of card games.

Because every card has a value in every suit there are a number of cool things you can do with them, most of which we haven't worked out yet . In the first deck we included rules for a game we called "Character Trumps" which uses trick-taking mechanics, but we're trying to make a new game for the new deck.
