Is there no advancement for familiars or ranger's beast companions? So far, I don't see anything suggesting they advance as you do but then again, I didn't look TOO hard. At least not at the ranger.

The Beast Master class features all improve the companion's capacities.

A familiar does not improve but it is also always a summon using a level 1 spell.
