I’ve been craving some Warhammer Fantasy roleplaying lately, but I can’t decide on a good system for it. I have a few candidates: Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th Edition. This is of course a contender. I have no experience with it, so I don’t know if its a good fit for what I want out of an rpg. Zweihander. As I understand it, this is Warhammer Fantasy Roleplays earliest editions with the serial numbers filed off. I own the book, but haven’t read it. https://100001.onl/ https://1921681254.mx/ Burning Wheel. My unicorn and my nemesis. I have loved Burning Wheel for over 10 years, but have hardly ever GMed it. I don’t know if its a good fit for Warhammer though. FATE, I guess? I mean, FATE can do anything. Some variation or edition of D&D or possibly Pathfinder. I don’t really think this is the one, but it’s on the list. I should probably talk a little bit about what I want out of an rpg. I’ve been a GM for over half my life, going on roughly 20 years now. In that time I’ve discovered that I can’t do math in my head (not just complex math, any kind of math takes time and effort for me), I love to improvise and prefer low prep. So ideally I’d like an rpg that fascilitates that kind of GM exxperience. On the other hand I do GM Pathfinder 1e so I can make almost anything work. |

The official reason was to change things up and make a simplier, more newbie friendly game - Fantasy had gotten particuarly complex and hard to keep a track of, and each new iteration of armies or the core rules seemed to bring more issues up with the core game. |
