YOU GET HEALING! AND YOU GET HEALING! EVERYBODY GETS HEALING!
Seriously, I don't see why each school didn't get it's own way of healing. As you said, basically every school (except conjuration) would make sense to have some sort of healing in it, and frankly I think that Necromancy should have held both positive and negative schools. But it's not. Honestly I have no explanation for it, but hey, at least neg. energy clerics get the title of Necromancer all to themselves. (Who needs healing anyways? Psh.)
As a staunch supporter of Necromancy, though, I'll have to argue that it's not wholly evil. Sure, it's not very virtuous, but the argument of 'desecrating corpses' is really, really opinionated. Just because one thinks a body/soul shouldn't be abused, doesn't mean that those that DO use Necromancy are doing it just to make the recipients suffer. A good show of this, I belive, would be Wee Jas.
Quote:
Wee Jas thinks of herself as a steward of the dead. Though she is a relatively benign death goddess, she has no problem with undead being created - as long as they are not reanimated against their will, and their remains are procured in a lawful manner.
From the D&D wiki; I'd say that that proves that not all Necromancy is inherently evil. Some people WANT to be used after death. (I wouldn't mind it.)
