Dude, the GameChic table looks really nice, though a bit heavy for sure. The DIY one I mean. If you got the room for it I'd definately go for that one nothing beats the simplicity of a 6'x4' rectangle but the hidden game surface is likely to wow a player or two for sure. If you dont have the room then I agree with you and Tevish in that a 4' hex is compact and practical.

You should post pics of the build process.
