My Skype session this week went fairly well... only one more encounter to go in the Keep on the Shadowfell module and we're looking to come out of it at level four.

Not sure if the group plans on continuing those characters into another module but I'll likely be retiring my ranger due to my deploment. The amount of damage I'm doing is nice though, and I don't think I've actually been hit yet, but I agree with those that make fun of Rangers just spamming Twin Strike.

Maybe I'll start a rogue at some point and see how 4e fairs for them.

Gah why is naming things so difficult! I have the full history of an ecclesiocracy stretching back over a millennia ruling over seven distinct territories yet I only have two territories, two cities and four people of importance names. *sigh*

I can help with that, unless it would effect my meta knowledge of your campaign?

Toss out some one or two line descriptions and I'll throw random names at ya, and see what sticks.

Nah this is for a side project I've been working on for a while. The evil campaign is entirely independent of that (except the City of Amarath - I needed a name quick for the campaign and just stole one of the few I already had done).

The ritual casting thing is actually part of this other project though so that's where that came from.

I intend to actually do a write-up for the world-building threads once I've got the bulk of things named.

Well feel free to throw ideas out here in the tavern.

Or start a thread and do it there. I'll just cannon fodder various names and you and pick and choose the bits ya like... or maybe be inspired to make your own.

I'd ask my players for help naming my world.... but I get the feeling it'd end up being Douchebagopolis...

On that whole naming thing sure let's give it a shot. I need a name for an elven nation - although 'nation' may be a bit charitable. Despite being one of the oldest and most powerful races the entire nation has only three major cities and a miniscule total population. Government type is hard to put a finger on since basically all power lies in the hands of three people and the question of succession has only ever come up once since the awakening of their race.

Edit: Actually I should say I need two names for the nation. One in high elven (their true language) and one in low elven (the bastardized version of their own language they teach to the 'lesser races' so that true elven may never be sullied by hearing one of the 'children' attempting to speak it).

When I use generators I just use then for inspiration then make my own.

I dont know if anyone has read the topic up in the metaboard yet, but...

I'm changing positions in the site staff hierarchy and will not longer be a 'Site Moderator' over the Play-By-Post and RPG boards, what I will be however, is the 'RPG Community Manager'.

So rather than handling reports and policing the forums for violations of the Code of Conduct I can focus more on what I joined up to do when we launched the site initially: foster and expand the community of the site in general and more specifically in the RPG forums though various means. I'll be working on a lot of the stuff I have been in the past like FAQ threads, information directories, and ways to bring traffic in, but I'll also be spending more time doing community activities like organizing events, contests, tournaments and such and hopefully get things set up for whatever the NGA version of UnCon will end up being.

I leave moderating the RPG boards in the cable hands of GobO_Mastergear who has proven himself to be more than capable since we hired him, and moderating the Play-By-Post boards to Gobo_Scarlet who had years of experience and who I've known for quite some time now.
