Life has been good. You started out with modest holdings but with careful planning, loyal subjects and a growing military you've managed to expand into a thriving kingdom. Your coffers are full, you live in an opulent castle surrounded by loved ones, and your clothes are starting to fill out a little more. But lately there have been disturbing reports coming out of the mountains on the edge of your kingdom. Reports of monsters, demons and witches stalking the living. You and your councils laughed off the stories at first, but when the agent you had sent to investigate these matters returned strapped to his horse and missing his head, the fear began to spread. Not one to take these matters lightly, you gave a grand announcement to your peasants that you, and a hundred of your best trained soldiers, would brave the dark stories and get to the truth of this matter. With a sweaty palm and a tight chest, you wave good bye to your subjects. Swallowing deeply, you wonder why being surrounded by all these warrior doesn't make you feel any safer.

New card type: Ages and Day/Night
- Ages are Duration cards that do not ever get cleanup up. They provide a bonus every turn from the rest of the game. Considering only allowing each player to buy each one once.
- Day and Night are Action - Duration - Victory cards that affect the other cards in the supply
- It focuses more on interaction with each other than a normal Dominion game tends to.

Okay, here are those comments I promised:

Day - How exactly does this work? I don't get it. If you wan the VP, you just don't ever play it? Are you supposed to trash it on the second turn? As written, I don't know these answers!

Night - Same as Day. I just don't know what's going on here.

Ages - While "age" is a natural step to take (I've made similar cards), after a ton of thinking, I'm not sure betters the game to have something so permanent. That said, you did cost them high for that reason.

Note: When you say "+1 Gold", do you mean "+1 Coin" (or "+$1" as most people write it online)? Because Gold is this:

Angel - Too dependent. Cards that look for other specific cards are fine, but the likelihood of that other card appearing needs to be reasonable. Conspirator only needs a way to chain actions, for example, and can range from the best card out there to the worst. But it's generally useful most of the time. Angel doesn't need either to be useful, but then it varies immensely in a game when Day and/or Night are around to the point that you absolutely have to buy it in Day games. Also, if you have Angel, why would you ever play a Night?

Angry Mob - Too political, too much variance, not enough basic goodness when you just play it. It's also an odd thing to react to. Also, players don't have to show what they discard from their hands during clean-up; this would still count the cards they discard from play, though.

Black Cat - This is a common mistake in Dominion design, one I and everyone makes initially. The problem with straight discard like this is that it kills the last person in turn order during multiplayer games. If four of us are playing, and each of the first three people plays this card, the fourth person is just left doing nothing. That's such an extremely and harsh penalty to put on the player that already has the disadvantage in the game.

Body Parts - Many games, maybe even most games, you don't need to buy more than one Silver... if you even one at all! Silver is an underpowered card that come sometimes be really good but is mostly just an early purchase to get things rolling. Your Silver with a drawback doesn't really have much of a drawback save that it doesn't work as well to buy multiples as you'd like (which I already covered), and it greatly facilitates 2/5 openings.

I'm gonna stop there for now. After designing a lot of bad cards in the Dominion community, a lot of the nuances have become familiar to me and they're easy traps to fall for. It basically took everyone telling me why I did things wrong to get any better, and I'm still not that good.

Thank you very much for the input. I am always happy to make mistakes that other designers have made because it usually means I'm stepping in the right direction.

Day and Night are supposed to give you the option of trashing it once its in play, like Magic's sacrifice. It may be too 'magicy' of an effect though, which is something I've had a hard time staying away from. I wanted low cost, low victory cards that wouldn't clutter up your deck if you don't want.

I am also a little leery of the Ages effect but in testing it has been alright because usually people buy provinces for that cost.

I definitely meant +1 Coin and not +3 Gold, etc.

Angel - I was going for more of a "Day vs. Night" idea. If you are playing Night dependent cards you wouldn't buy/play days and vice versa. They were meant for "this set only" play and not combined with random other sets.

Angry Mob was mostly a flavor card. If someone plays to many monsters then the Angry Mob is going to come out. Plus it makes people sometimes play more conservatively with chaining actions constantly. In test, it has definitely ranged from useless to way too good so I've been watching it. I meant it to be cards that you clean up from play, not from your hand. I'll have to clarify that.

You are absolutely right about Black Cat. I am surprised that no one has noticed this yet in testing. I'm going to have to change it to "If you have more than 4 cards in your hand, discard one at random."

We are probably a bunch of scrubs, but we buy Silvers all the time. It still only a 'meh' card though at best.

Thank you very much for the feedback. I'm going to go check out that site.

I just realized after seeing that gold piece I have indeed played this game once! I remember nothing about it but I think I almost won. Or we had to quit before anyone won.
