OK, seriously thinking of upgrading to the next Gen system. Currently on Xbox 360, but do to many friends switching to the PS4 I'm thinking that way too. Can I even get this game on it? If so how is it? Just looking for some feedback. I'm thinking if I got an XB1 I'd be able to transfer my game and keep my progress or no? As you can see I'm in the early stages of this choice LOL. Thanks

Cannot get this game on either next gen system. They've already released their lineups through march and this is not part of either. Since dotp 2015 will come out in june most likely, you would most likely have to wait for that.

Good to know, thanks! Guess I could still get a PS4 and play on the 360 though seeing as I just got a year of Xbox live...

Man I'm glad I play this game over Steam. I would hate to have to get a new console just to play it.

^^ Here is the thing. I would wait a year before getting either for two reasons.

1. The lineup for both currently sucks. You can get most of the good games on the older systems already, a lot of the better exclusives got delayed, and the remaining ones aren't really worth getting a system. Because getting a system for 1 or 2 games you couldn't play on your old system can be justified....... but it's a lot of money. The lineup will be better like 6 months from now. Since the older systems are getting some of the best games this holiday season anyway......

2. 6 months to a year from now the hardware will be better. Because they will have caught most of the serious issues due to early adopters's systems breaking.

Pah. One year? Try about three. I'll be damned if I'm going to pick up a new console before such a point that there basically giving them away in boxes of cereal. There just isn't enough difference between the PS3 and PS4 that I will part with any real money for one. Last thing I need is another ugly black box sitting in my room.

I will get a ps4 and an xbox one at some point. It will be at the point where the current systems are no longer supported enough by the newest games that I am forced to go out and buy a console. I will then play every game I want on that console before going out and getting the other one in another couple of years after that.

This is the way I do things because the price goes down, the hardware gets better, and the games get better, the long you wait. If there is enough on current gen to make that wait fun.....

I don't see the price of a PS4 going down even in a year from now when they stop putting out PS3 games. It'll take atleast a year maybe year and a half of nothing but PS4 releases before they drop the price. Sony is already losing about $100-$120 on each PS4 sale due. They do that because they know they'll make the money back in licensing of new games/game sales and because they want it to be cheaper than XBone. So I wouldn't expect them to purposely hurt their bottom line any further for quite a while.

Wonder what that will do to the player base in June?
I, like Garren, have no desire to purchase a PS4 yet. They need to hammer out all the issues and maybe drop the price (or I'll buy a new one) before I get one.
That makes me wonder if WOTC will release DOTP for PS3 and PS4 and if so who will be making the move.

It most likely won't be on both. The PS3 uses a Cell Processor and the PS4 doesn't. They basically talk a different language. A game made for one would have to be altered to work on the other. It all depends on what Stainless has been working on, a PS3 core, or a PS4 core for DotP 2015. But I doubt the playerbase will be split as it would be ridiculous for a company making a $10 game to be expected to spend the resources to build it for two codes on a "single" platform.

Post subject:  Re: PS4 vs Xbox One?

I think you're right about there not being a game for both platforms so what sucks is if they only release it on PS4.
I won't be playing next year then unless I move back over to Steam and to be honest I prefer Sony.

I doubt they will. Stainless will most likely release a PS3 version of DotP 2015. I am in no way an expert or privy to any information regarding this, it's just my guess that as a low budget game producer they're sticking with what they have been doing until Sony forces their hand.

I have an Xbone (early Xmas gift, and like I was just going to let it sit under the tree all the time, right?) and I have a hard time believing that 6-7 months from now (SIX TO SEVEN MONTHS) that they won't have Duels ready to go for the Next Gens.

Anyways, back to the Xbone. I'm happy with it, though all I've played is Dead Rising 3 (which is kinda cool with the whole new Smartglass/Tablet thing), Peggle 2, and Forza 5 (and I'm sure I'll be using the inevitable rush of gift cards this coming Wednesday to hop on to some Killer Instinct and Bugglefield 4). Would I have payed 600+ bucks for it right now had I not received it as a gift. Nope. However, when stop like Titanfall starts dropping, and it turns out to be actually as good as it looks (I'm mostly concerned with how it's going to "feel" when you're not flying through the air...hoping it feels like Battlefield and not Gears), that's when I would start considering the upgrade. But thankfully, I don't have to worry about that now.

As far as the PS4 goes, as a gamer since the early 80s (and I state this as to deflect any console fanboy claims), they just don't have any exclusives I'm excited for on the same level as Titanfall's potential (though to be fair, that's the only exclusive I'm excited for)...so something will really have to change for me to have 2 Next Gens in my living room.

The Wii U? Whatever man. I have a 3DS.

I don't know anything about how the XBone differs from the 360 in regards to it's hardware or software. Maybe they're similar enough (probably since it's basically just a glorified Microsoft CPU) that DotP2015 will be on both. But I find it hard to believe stainless would make a version for both PS3/4.

^^ Everyone on ps3, don't worry I will be around to play DOTP with you six months from now. Probably. It depends whether or not Hunting Season sets a quality benchmark or not.

If I get it, which is 89%, I'll get it on PS3.

Yes. All of us Playstationers can rest at ease now. Mjack will still be around to play with us, so we can stop worrying.

Killer Instinct

The one **** game that bums me out on the next gens...
To be honest I dont care much bout brands, wether its Sony, Microsoft or some other ****, When onlinegaming jumped on the consoletrain for real with PSN and XBL thats when I back from PC to console, now Microsoft did the ultimate sin of thousand Deaths of extreme agony you could ever do to a onlinegamer by charging for the XBL.
Now with Sony implementing the same **** on PSN I cant see why I would even want a next gen anymore, then I watched this years World Championship on Beat em up esports and they showed the new Killer Instinct and let me tell you it looked AWESOME.
Now due to XBL and PSN im pretty much decided already not to get a next gen but if by some act of god I would get one, it would be Xbone and I would only get that 1 game a couple of extra controllers and leave it at that.

Isn't psn still free on ps3?

Or are they going to start charging for online on ps3 too?

Edit: Looked it up. PS4 only.
