The list of games I want:

- Ocarina of Time
- super mario 3d land
- Majora's Mask
- Mario Kart 7
- Monster Hunter 4
- Luigi's Mansion 2
- Pokemon X (or Y)
- the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
- Xenoblade Chronicles

^ I was thinking about getting one, but I can't think of anything else off the top of my head that I really want to get for the system, and I don't consider this to be enough sine it basically covers 2 years worth of things. Especially since I can go play both Zelda games and Valkyria Chronicles elsewhere. Anyone want to help out and try to convince me its worth it?

For example, how much memory does the system have, for downloads? Is there anything unique you can download from the nintendo store that's really worth having? Etc. Things like that.

Didn't you basically buy a PS4 for Bloodborne? Well the list of game you want on this thing is already longer then that and the things like 1/4 - 1/5 the price of a PS4. I'd buy it. Use the thing more then my consoles as is (PS3 is basically a glorified Netflixs device these days).

The PS4 is a blatant upgrade to something I already had that I was going to have to replace eventually. The 3DS isn't.

Also, while smash bros is addicting, it's no Dark Souls.

..... can you play dark souls on 3ds?

-----------

I'm not that interested in more modern Zelda. I think it's gone the way of Ratchet and Clank.

It's also worth knowing other things worth getting on it, in general.

The modern Zelda is actually a pseudo remake of Link To The Past. I've never played Ratchet and Clank, and I don't know what way it went, but I assume the analogy is undermined.

Ok. Then I simply won't play it because I don't like "A Link to the Past".

I wouldn't really be able to answer your question since I don't actually have a 3DS, what I have is a Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate machine.

However, if you're considering a DS of any kind you'll want to steer clear of the 2DS. Everything I read said that it was made out of incredibly cheap parts for younger kids.

I DO NOT like Sm4sh on the 3DS. I tried a friend's copy and the screen is WAY too busy for such a small screen. Like, even busier than the WiiU Sm4sh, and that thing takes a lot of getting used to.

If you like Monster Hunter, then you'll like MH4U. It has a huge list of monsters, from what I understand the largest list since Freedom Unite, and it has a decently extensive single-player quest list, going right up to 10* high rank stuff (although you have to complete quite a few guild hall quests to unlock them all). The online mode is pretty decent but all the quests are available offline so you can do it however you desire. They had also been putting out monthly free DLC additions for quite some time, although I never kept up with them because they were mostly tie-in references to other games like Mario and Metroid. They might still be doing those for all I know.

The e-store (or whatever Nintendo is calling it) has a decent selection of indie games like Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and Shovel Knight, but honestly I'd rather have an eternal PC copy than one tied to one specific Nintendo handheld.

It is my understanding that the 3DS stores its digital games on SD cards (probably sold separately?). I honestly have no idea if they even have native memory. I am talking about the "old" 3DS instead of the "new" 3DS, though.

I really like:
- the very first one
- Oracle of Ages
- Oracle of Seasons
- Ocarina of Time
- Majora's Mask
- Wind Waker
- Twilight Princess

At best I feel "meh" about all other Zelda games, and I wouldn't really go out of my way to obtain any of them.

Clearly you and I run on different operating systems. I consider Link To The Past to be the series' crowning gem. It's omission here is puzzling. Especially since I know now that you like the 2D as well as 3D Zeldas. Link to the Past is usually considered the best of the 2D games.

Can we at least agree that Zelda II is ****? I would be satisfied with that.

I had both Seasons and Ages and I loved the hell out of 'em. Of course, I think they were my very first Zelda games ever, but still. I've met very few people who seemed to even know they exist, much less like them. I though Ages was the better game, but unfortunately lost that one to act of animal.

They are available for about 8 bucks each for download on the 3ds.

Ages had a better final boss.

I actually disagree with you on that point. I much prefer battling Onox because it made me feel like much more of a badass to fight a) something that couldn't be hurt except with fully charged swings, and b) a giant dragon that you had to climb up to hit the weak point.

However, I just liked more of Ages as a whole: the boss fights, the dungeons, and the dual-map system. I especially remember the face-boss that I think is the boss of the 2nd dungeon, and Jabu-Jabu's belly. Oh, and the crazy guy that does this ridiculous song and dance after you play a tune for him and he gives you the last tune for your harp.

If I remember correctly, you could also get the master sword without doing the trading quest in seasons, so long as you knew which way to go (or in this case you can just google it now-a-days).

I would like to point out that for Xenoblade Chronicles, you will need to get a NEW 3DS and not a regular one.

Other than that I have a simple answer.
Yes.

I know. It's funny how they are making games only for the XL. It's like it's a next gen handheld for no reason or something.

They are only making a couple games for that, and it's because it has a faster processor.
