...but not Warhammer: Age of Sigmar because bother that noise.* Anyone play either game? Anyone play both? Anyone just keep up with the fluff and want to chat about how stupid it's all gotten recently? Does anyone even know what I'm talking about right now? For myself I main Tyranids (2500 point army) and have two smaller armies as 'play when I am bored of om-nom-nom'ing the galaxy' armies. These are a Dark Eldar force and a Sisters of Battle force (1500 and 1000 points respectively). For those of you that play the game then yes - I do play the worst army, the most unloved army and the actually-got-kinda-awesome-recently army. Because I'm weird like that. *Yes you can talk about Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. I don't know why you would want to though. |

I'm a casual fan of 40k. I like the uniquely over-the-top aesthetic of the Imperium, and I've played Dawn of War II some. I have a Tau battleforce, painted it even, but my rulebook is outdated and I'm not planning to play any time soon. The hobby is even more expensive than Magic is. |

I hear that. Among my friends we used to joke it would be cheaper to have to raging crack addiction then to collect Citadel miniatures. Then we crunched the numbers, found out exactly how much cheaper it would be and got collectively depressed. I only own three armies because a friend of mine used to work there and let us abuse his staff discount. Good times. |

Oh man. I have a space marine army, a necron army and a dark eldar army sitting around collecting dust. I dont think I've played with them since I was a wee lad. I moved away from my friends and the groups I found at gamesworkshop and local hobby events were just a little too uh....intense? Yes, lets say intense, for me. Some of them are broken though, because roommates are jerks, amirite? |

I'm a fan of the lore, but I've never actually played the game. Mostly due to it being more expensive than crack. Also becuase I never got the impression that anybody was ever happy with how Games Workshop handles their franchise. So what is the age of Sigmar and why is it horrible? |

You know how you're a fan of the lore? Imagine if GeeDubs collectively said 'nah screw it we're going to reset the entire universe. Everything you know and have spent years supporting is now gone. Entirely. We're replacing it with new vague lore that - effectively - resets the entirely ball game back to square one'. That's basically Age of Sigmar. They took the pre-established universe for Warhammer Fantasy, deleted it and put something new in it's place - except the something new was basically the old thing minus almost everything that made it fun. Basically it's what they did to the Star Wars expanded universe - taking everything you knew and making it invalid. ...oh and also they introduced Space Marines in the fantasy setting. Because apparently everyone loves space marines. |
