The rating scale for games now days is whack anyway. If a game isnt an 8 its not worth playing according to most sites.

It kind of defeats the whole purpose of what average is to have the scale weighted that way >_<

Indeed. I rate games I play for myself and manage it in an .xls file (as an ex-game journalist it's hard to drop the habit) and when a friend saw my ratings he was like "why have you played so many 5 and 6 games?" :/

Nowadays 5 is considered to be "bad" and anything lower is just used to humiliate or ridicule a game which is just dumb.

Indeed. Not getting a 10 is some how a bad thing...instead of 10 being only the best.

Unrelated note, and not trying to turn this into some big trade thread...but ...

I need cards 3 5 and 9. And have extra 2 6 and 10.

So, the Holiday Sale is winding down, what did everyone get? For me, it was Borderlands 2 Season Pass, Borderlands 1 GOTY, Remember Me, Evoland and several other smaller games and several gifts.

Oh god finally did Stranger's Dream with 10 idols, now there's only the score attack one left. Pike + Bow is the real deal, even if I miss the musket in the main hand.

Those are my last achievements in Bastion. I still need to farm them...but been working on other games here recently.

I got myself three games: E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy, Dark Souls, Poker Night 2. I am very happy with my purchases although I wish I had bought PN2 when it was 80%/90% off in a flash sale, but still a solid purchase.

I bought my friends Bastion, Hotline Miami and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I ended up getting the last one there as a gift too so woo. On top of that I received Chainsaw Warrior, The Bard's Tale, Another World and L4D2.

I got Antichamber, Bioshock Infinite, Divinity: Dragon Commander, Dragon Age: Origins, The Incredible Adventures of Can Helsing, Just Cause 2, Machinarium, Omerta - City of Gangsters, Papers Please, The Stanley Parable, Surgeon Simulator 2013, Trine 2 and Valdis Story: Abyssal City. I intended to get nothing. Bloody sales...

Oh also I acquired a gift copy of Bad Rats because a mate of mine thinks he is freaking hilarious...

Some people have more money than sense. Fact of life.

The vast majority of people on Steam are like that. Hell, I own games I don't actually intend on playing, I just wanted to catalog them. Like, I have Darksiders, which I beat of the Xbox 360, so I have no intention of playing it again even though I bought it again (since I gave my old copy to a kid). I just wanted it listed under my games.

Seriously though, most people own more games then they've actually completed on Steam.

I think there is a spectrum between "owning more games than they've completed on Steam" and spending that much money to get those card things.

There is, I was just making a point that a lot of people have spent needless amounts of money of Steam just because crap went on sale. I know I did.... well, do.

I did that with so many games during last year's summer sale.

I mean, I'll eventually get around to paying them, eventually

looking back at some of my games that I bought during the summer sale, there's definitely more than a few I just bought because they were cheap and not because I actually wanted to play them

Like what? Lol

My biggest sin so far is buying a game I already own on Xbox ...because I dont play it anymore, and would prefer it was on Steam. (and it was just soo cheap...so I had to. :shifty: )

Pretty sure most of them are good games (didn't really enjoy Dawn of Fantasy) but I mostly just got them because they were on sale

there's probably more that I'm missing

I guess my problem is that I get games and don't really put aside time to play them
