If you're implying that Gurren Lagann is not the greatest show ever, we may have to fite irl :P.

Madoka, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop are better off the top of my head.

Never watched any of those. Or better saying, I started watching some of them a long time ago, but it was a very difficult time to watch anime at that time. Gurren Lagann, I stopped watching at the middle. Not for my taste.

Or a sword with the teeth. Truly hard science at best.

gurren lagann was mostly boring but the longer that passes the more i forget the boring and remember the epic and the epic is something that I am happy to have experienced. As easy as being ridiculously over the top sounds, I can't say I've experienced anything as over the top as gurren lagann.

I wasn't a huge fan of trigun. Bebop was okay and i really liked madoka.

It's a lot harder than it sounds. Well, to do it right anyway. For an example of doing it wrong see Kill la Kill (I believe the dub changed the title to Anticlimax: The Animated Series).

For another example of doing it right, Redline. It's not quite as over the top, but it's goddamned beautiful.

So I've been playing the second one, trying to beat night 3 right now since all my save data is gone. I'm out of practice so this crap is harder than I remembered lol.

The first game got kind of predictable after a while, which made it so you could relax after a fashion. The 2nd just becomes so hectic on harder a.i. settings that you are tense the entire time. So basically, you are tense the entire time you are playing it until something jumps out at you. And since you are tense...... well the jump scare works.

Edit: Yep on night 4. This game is good at making you panic because A) the controls don't always work right if you move to fast and B) that **** music box is far more troublesome of a time than the song and pirate cove were.

The 4th one is out now, apparently. It also claims to be the last one.

Gog. Dammit.

*sighs*

I guess it's time for me to watch some more Markiplier videos. Except not right now because it's late and I'm going to take my certification exam tomorrow.

I found it to induce motion sickness, myself. Also, kinda dull by comparison to the others.

Okay, so I've watched most of Markiplier's playthrough of 4 (he says he has one more episode incoming, plus whatever DLC is coming on Halloween), and I hate the game. Simply because, as someone who is hard of hearing, I missed out on 99% of the cues needed to know what was happening. I never heard any breathing, I only heard stepping a handful of times, I only noticed the screaming children during the last video or two, and the only sound I consistently heard was golden freddy's laugh -- not that I was able to figure out what it meant.

Also, I found that the game makes the player too active (rather than the passive controls of the previous games), and the animatronics (dammit google that is too a word) move too much to make them as frightening entities as they had been previous. Foxy's the only one who really scared me on any deep level and that's specifically because you don't see him move. A lot of what made the previous games scary to me (the first and second ones in particular) is the way they took the already slightly unnerving atmosphere of old-timey too-cheery pizza place and animatronics (which almost universally skirt the uncanny valley), and then add another layer by making them move but only when you're not looking or can't see them. They played perfectly into the childlike fear I feel most of us have, and this new one doesn't do that as well.

QUICKEDIT: I forgot to mention that I just learned that Markiplier's brother is the writer of Twokinds, which I have read some of.

It's louder in person than on youtube. Youtube is famous for getting rid of certain background noise after editing.

Still, it wouldn't be a game for me. As I said, I'm hard of hearing, and on top of that I've historically not placed auditory content in games very high on the list of things I notice of a game (or, really, any media I consume) -- i.e., a majority of the games I have played I have played muted.

I mildly enjoyed the lore of the 5NAF series, but wouldn't really be interested in replaying them for it. It was a little frustrating that each installment seemed to go back farther in time. If this is the end of the series, I'd sincerely hope that they release it as a complete set and list them in chronological order.

I think the lore, and especially since the lore is never explicitly stated, is a major enhancer of the game's scariness. It is also kind of fascinating to hear about what people have pieced together since so much of it is left so very vague.

Also, from where the games are set in:
  1. FNAF 4
  2. FNAF 2
  3. FNAF
  4. FNAF 3

That's partially an assumption on my part based on Game Theorist's info that Fredbear was pre-Freddy Fazzbear. I'm unsure about the bite of '87.

The cutscenes from FNAF 4 happen pre Bite of 87, but the actual game may take much place later. Like... a flashback sort of thing? It depends on who you ask.

FNAF 2 is about the same time frame as that, with the bite happening towards the end of that game?

FNAF is well after that, and FNAF 3 is WELLLLL after that where all the dead people get put to rest (in the good ending).

The DLC will probably "fix" the story.

For the most part that's what I knew and/or assumed (again, mostly from info by Game Theorists). I had been assuming that the gameplay parts of FNAF 4 happened in relation to the cutscenes, though -- like, they were actually happening in-between the cutscenes, rather than any before or after.

I keep forgetting to mention something: I found the foxy plushy to be adorable.

Plushies generally are. Even their name is cute. Plushy.

Well, yeah, but I don't actually want a plushy like the Freddy (Fredbear?) plushy on the bed the same way I want that Foxy plushy. The first time I saw it I just had to pause Markiplier's video and go D'awwww. One thing I hate is that Markiplier didn't seem to click it like he did with the Fredbear (Freddy?) plushy on the bed. It would have made Foxy twice as cute if he squeaked.

You know what you have to do now right?

Get the game and test it out. Or...... do a google search. Either or, but hopefully the first because I want to hear that story.

So, any idea what the DLC will bring to the table?

I have no idea what to expect, considering all the games up to this point have been complete without extra content (ignoring the tiny and, to my understanding, unexplained updates).
