For ease, I'm chopping it up into sections I agrew with and disagree with for conversation. First, the things I disagree with:

The game is not challenging even when Monster Power is set to 10.
The new art direction is not one to be admired.
The story is bland.
The gear system is flawed.
The combat system is flawed.
The potion system was a poor choice.
The Auction House is debilitating to the overall quality of the game (yes, I know this is being removed).
Gems, if it were possible, are even more bland than any comparable game including its predecessor.
I found the game to be challenging at Inferno by myself, maybe because I wasn't using the Auction House, but it was pretty hard for me to get through it.
I don't mind the new art style, even though it's closer to World of Warcraft, I actually enjoy the fact that Blizzard has something of a brand identity with their products. It's not all perfectly in line with a single style, but it's pretty close and I like that.
The story I found to be pretty fun. You got to run around with Tyriel, Cain dies, there's betrayal and zones like the Heavens that we never got before.
The gear system is virtually the same as every other time with Diablo, so what's flawed?
The combat system isn't perfect, I think they intended for more crowds of enemies for you to clear out, but it's not bad.
The potions aren't great since you have to wait to drink again, but aside from that it's the same as before, plus heath orbs.
The Auction House to me simply replaced bots farming gear, so I don't mind it at all.
The gems seemed a lot the same except you could craft them even higher, which wasn't great since it got expensive, but it could be a lot worse.

Despite modern innovations, there is no aesthetic character customization to found.
The "skill system" is not a proper system at all and does not encourage creativity nor is it rewarding nor does it encourage creating multiple characters.
In fact, outside of non-rewarding achievements, there is no reason to create more than one character for each class.
The crafting system is bad and largely nothing more than an incredibly lazy gold sink.
I mostly agree with these, though I don't find most of them to be a far step down from Diablo 2.

Etc. All that cal. The only thing that Diablo 3 actually got right were the cinematics.
I separated this since I agree the cinematics were great, but I don't think it was the only thing they got right.
