I'm all for playing ssbm with capsules and pokeballs but don't say you don't play in a competitive environment when the game is person vs person

where you COMPETE to be the WINNER

seriously

Man thats not even like on the radar of objectionable casual fg opinions.

Quote:
I'm old school, been playing ever since I was a kid in the arcade days. I remember the days when if you threw some one by mistake, you would let them throw you back. It was kinda like an honour thing. I also remember the cheap corner CHEESE with the up close down short short short kick and the walk up an grab. Throwing in excess in my mind is dirty play, I understand that throws are in the game to debalance the opponents defense. But, when some one relies souly on throwing in a fight, that is a sign of a lack of skill. When you fight some one online, and 95% their game is repetative throws you have no skill and you should learn the game. It's called Street FIGHTER, not street GRABBER!!!

what I don't understand is why casual players get upset that tournament players play a certain way and want everyone to play casually

when that is the exact thing they complain about tournament players doing

like, play casually whatever

but don't demand that everyone play the game the exact same stupid way you do

so when you play with your friends do you take turns losing or something

so its not too competitive?

Having a competitive attitude, caring about strategy and playing Intensly I my definition for competitive gaming. When I play fighting games I turn my brain off and go only on instinct. Not caring about how I play is what makes it fun. If j had a friend that was pro at whatever we were playing I would not have fun playing against them and probably stop playing with them at that game.

well I mean if all you are going to do it mash buttons because you don't care about "strategy" don't get mad when people beat you

if you don't then great, keep playing the way you play

I'm something of a button masher, but I can still have extreme fun playing against anyone as long as they aren't gonna combo me in a corner.

I didn't say I was button mashing because I'm not. And I don't get mad I just get sad.

you said you "turned your brain off" and implied you don't care about strategy

which is what made me think button mashing

I just remembered there is one fighting game that I did play competitively since the early days.
Was pretty darn decent at it too, though nowhere near actual pro level.
I'm that guy who always goes random in fighters and try to figure things out for everyone. I will have favorites, and I will be good with them if I get them. But it's still random.

Me on the left.

Combos are really fun pls learn a combo

edit also button mashing can still beat a lot of bad tryhards because they have no clue what you're actually gonna do and even so I don't have a hard time playing against bad people I just pick a char I don't know and go for gimmicks constantly
