Don't get me wrong, the game was decent. I just didn't like it enough to keep playing.

You going for a particular play-style or just doing what you need to do to complete the level. Pacifist runs are surprisingly fun in that game.

A pacifist run could be really fun. I may try for that.

Skyrim is like Call of Duty for me. Everyone rants and raves about how great it is, but I just can't seem to enjoy them.

I dislike the massive amounts of freedom Skyrim offers. I build a character, get booted into the world and then stand around thinking 'what now?' It doesn't help that the main quests are all really bad and most of the guild quests are equally dumb. So mostly I wander around suplexing bandits to death until I get bored.

I like open world, I like freedom, I like customization, but it needs an engaging story as well. Skyrim fails on that last part, its story is boring and the dialogue is stiff.

I haven't touched the main quest,I just finished up the Nightenglae quest chain. I've also gotten a number of mods. Funny story is when i was playing last week, I discovered that I had somehow had two insistence of Riften running, one of them had the way in under a rock. So I did a clean install and cut down on the number of mods.

I spent half of the game glitching my way through the Mage main-quest, and then I spent the other half facerolling through the main quest.
It's kind of amusing to murder overpowered mobs by making them walk over a bunch of rocks, but the mechanics fell very flat, and the game as a whole just didn't grab me.

Skyrim has a great story, you just have to build it yourself. I love the lore, especially when you first play and discover how far apart so many neat things are.

Japanese Indie games are on sale this week on Steam. I've already picked up a few for my prize bag.
I imagine there's at least one person here who will fall head over heels for the visual novel builder.

So I just completed Shadowrun: Hong Kong. Strange that the third game in the series would have more bugs then the previous two. On the upside Harebrained Schemes are pretty solid when it comes to patching this junk.

That said if you liked the previous two games from them (Returns and Dragonfall) you should probably grab this. Decent list of new features (or more accurately refinements over old systems) and the story is solid - personally found it a little less engaging then Dragonfall (at least right up until the end) but better then Returns. It's good.

They seem to turn out games really fast.

Dragonfall was a year ago - maybe a little longer since I think the release date on Steam is for the Directors cut. So it is pretty quick but then they've been building the games on pretty much the same engine with refinements here and there so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise.
